Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 7-10+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with experience in the financial services industry
- Must have experience owning and executing a capital markets function
- Experience with debt facilities
- Experience in the lending, loyalty, or credit card industry is a plus
- Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel
- Strong understanding of P&L management, financial metrics, and key performance indicators
- Strong emotional intelligence (able to manage yourself and others)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software
- Must love dogs
What the job involves
- We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Head of Finance to join our team. As the Head of Finance, you will help drive the business outcomes needed to scale our product lines as well as grow the overall company
- You will be responsible for leading FP&A, capital markets, treasury, and accounting
- You will work closely with cross-functional leaders to ensure that we are structuring and scaling our products, partners, and overall business properly
- Reporting to the CEO, you will ensure we have the needed resources (debt and equity) for Mesa to build a category defining company
- FP&A: Develop and maintain detailed financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and profitability of the product lines and overall business
- Performance Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports to track the performance of the business lines and lead Monthly and Quarterly Finance Reviews
- Analyze trends, identify any variances or areas of improvement, and present findings to senior management to support decision-making
- Business Partnering: Partner closely with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and optimize portfolio performance. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business objectives
- Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning activities related to the business. Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity analysis to assess potential impacts on financial performance and recommend appropriate actions

Mesa is a mortgage fintech offering homeowners 1% cash back on mortgage payments and a rewards credit card tailored to home-related expenses. The card earns points on mortgage payments, utilities, repairs, groceries, and gas, providing more value on essential spending.
The card, issued by Celtic Bank, is not tied to the home and offers points that can be redeemed for cash back, travel, or applied toward mortgage payments. Mesa also plans to offer discounts on home improvement and big-box memberships to enhance its homeowners-focused rewards.
Despite challenges in the mortgage fintech market, Mesa has secured substantial funding. With its unique mix of mortgage loans and rewards, it's well-positioned for growth as it scales and brings more value to homeowners.
