Role
Who you are
- Back-end: Python, Pandas, Sklearn, Tensorflow (among others)
- Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, GitHub Actions
- Strong background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or operations research
- Proficiency in our Data Science stack (Python, Pandas, Tensorflow, AWS lambda, Docker etc.)
- Experience in developing and deploying machine learning algorithms in production
What the job involves
- You will drive our analytics and optimization efforts towards three building blocks:
- Energy management dashboard that helps our B2B customers reduce and shift expensive load peaks, buy directly from wind & solar assets and manage the energy portfolio
- AI-based procurement optimization engine that balances the energy account on a recurring basis (prediction of energy supply, energy demand and resulting residuals)
- Energy trading software that is able to operate energy management processes from buying & selling energy, integrating other software providers in the energy market up to billing and invoicing
- Own our Data Science stack centered around our energy data model and energy data processing services
- Develop machine learning algorithms to fuel our energy-trading-software and energy analytics dashboard in collaboration with our frontend and backend engineers
- Thrive for test-driven development, ensuring precise numerical accuracy through comprehensive test coverage of core code units
- Lead the company's efforts towards building and applying algorithms for an efficient energy transition
Our take
The global demand for renewable electricity is skyrocketing, reflecting the new commitments that are necessary for cutting down carbon emissions. While most companies, including smaller ones, are seeking access to renewable energy, as it stands sustainable energy is only accessible to companies with larger financial means.
Berlin-based Trawa is looking to challenge this narrative by building a digital, data-driven energy provider that helps businesses decarbonise their electricity consumption. With a particular focus on SMEs in the manufacturing and processing sectors, Trawa is enabling companies to make the switch to green electricity and join a growing circle of enterprises committed to the future of sustainability.
The startup has secured substantial funding over the years that will help accelerate its growth. While Trawa is still relatively new to the scene, it's making waves in its mission to revolutionise renewable energy and looks set for a bright future.
