Role
Who you are
- A successful candidate will need strong technical skills, is decisive and believes in continuous delivery
- Must not be afraid to experiment and adapt to meet the organization needs
- 5+ years of technical leadership and/or engineering management experience
- 10+ years of experience building, testing and deploying distributed applications (Mobile client applications, Windows Applications, Web Applications, Cloud Microservices and Server Applications)
- Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals and software engineering best practices in an Agile environment
- Passionate in building high performance teams that pride themselves on building high quality software
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Ability to multi-task with a strong sense of urgency
- Ability to hold teams accountable
- Ability to concisely illustrate concepts in words and diagrams
- Ability to clearly explain and justify ideas when faced with competing alternatives
- Ability to research and learn new topics and become functional with them quickly
- Extremely comfortable with working with remote team members
- Some travel required (less than 15%)
- Bachelors Degree
- 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership or engineering management role
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position

- Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of continuous delivery tools and best practices
- Experience with organizational change management
- Experience with media delivery over IP networks
- Experience with distributed applications development
- Experience with mobile applications development

What the job involves
- We are looking for a talented and driven Software Engineering Manager to join our development organization
- In this role, you will enable a team of Software Developers (10-15 direct reports) to design, develop, test, and deploy applications for our best in class Video Management Portfolio
- We want inspiring leaders to build great teams that can build great products!
- Working with our development teams and stakeholders to create high quality software
- Ensure all Agile SDLC roles are owning their aspects of the product development cycle and support areas when needed
- Approach all aspects of engineering leadership with an eye toward continuous improvement
- Work closely with engineering and product leadership to ensure teams are tackling the right priorities
- Anticipate what’s next and champion the balance between short and long term objectives
- Agile coaching, career planning and training exploration for staff
- Inspire and grow our engineers /scrum teams to be high performing
