What the job involves
- We're looking for a Software Engineer II to help build product features that power financial services
- You'll work on systems that handle payments, credit, and other core products that our customers rely on daily to drive business operations
- Own the full lifecycle of medium-sized features and tasks across our product stack
- Build user-facing features, internal tools, APIs, and backend services
- Write clear, maintainable, and tested code that you'll be responsible for long-term
- Participate in code reviews and provide timely feedback to teammates
- Build features with the end product and user in mind, not just the code
- Reason carefully about how your work extends in service of larger product needs
- Build upon systems and features that others depend on
- Balance speed with reliability and compliance in a regulated environment
- Collaborate with other engineers and product team members to deliver high-impact work
- Technical environment: We primarily use Typescript, PostgreSQL, and GCP
- We are building in a monorepo with a lean towards rapid value creation through trunk based development
- Deploying to production 3-5 times a week is the average velocity of a team member

Flex, formerly known as Flexbase, supplies credit and finance management tools for small and midsize business (SMBs). At the core of its offering is a credit card, with a complimentary platform that collects all finance operations into one easy-to-manage app.
Perhaps the most intriguing part of Flex's approach is the credit card itself, which comes with 0% interest for 60 days. Through this, businesses can enhance their cash flow and be more flexible in investing in growth. Besides this, users can also issue virtual employee cards at no extra cost, and use functions such as receipt capture and free ach/wire payments.
Having steadily grown its offering over the years, Flex has raised significant funding to expand its business and accelerate growth. Demand for its solutions has expanded beyond its initial focus on the construction industry to target clients across logistics, e-commerce, real estate and other sectors. After raising $85 million over two rounds in 2025, Flex has launched a Google Pay partnership and the Visa Infinite Business Credit Card, with enhanced benefits for business owners.
