Who you are
- Huntress is looking for an experienced and innovative Software Engineer with excellent communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and team-building skills
- 4+ years of experience developing complex software products
- 2+ years of programming in Ruby on Rails
- Experience with JavaScript and CSS
- Experience working with external APIs
- Experience reviewing code, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting
- Experience working on Linux-based infrastructure
- BS in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience gained through work experience
Desirable
- Experience with AWS Cloud Environments
- Experience with Stimulus, Turbo, and/or Hotwire (or similar frameworks)
- Experience working in a Ruby on Rails monolith
- A passion for building platform capabilities
- Eagerness to work in Tailwind UI
What the job involves
- Reports to: Engineering Manager
- You will join a team responsible for end-to-end feature delivery: designing, developing, and releasing software features for the Huntress Core Platform
- Our Core Platform contains the foundational components that power the entire Huntress product suite. It consists of several capabilities, including the notification system, onboarding and activation, authentication and authorization, end-to-end user experience, integrations and APIs, and billing and subscriptions
- Your contributions to our high-performing team will help us scale our product suite that protects ALL businesses, not just the 1%
- Own and drive features from start to finish – engineering design, coding, testing, and rollout
- Hold a high bar for yourself and the team when it comes to code quality, scalability, and maintainability – through automated and manual testing, code reviews, and code pairing
- Work in all levels of the stack – frontend, backend, database, AWS, etc
- Actively engage and contribute to the team and new innovations
- Provide actionable feedback to teammates and your manager
- Break down work into milestones and stories
- Foster positive communication within the team and organization
- Propose team-level technical solutions

In a world of increasingly sophisticated cyberthreats, many SMBs don’t have the resources to protect themselves. Huntress addresses the need for robust cybersecurity solutions for small to medium sized businesses, which make up 99% of the US business landscape.
The company offers a managed security platform, which third party resellers leverage to protect their clients from attacks. Launched in 2015, Huntress has grown well over the years, attracting plenty of investment and expanding its headcount into the hundreds.
In recent years, Huntress has turned its eye to acquisitions and new product launches, as well as major international expansion. A considerable influx of funding will support these initiatives, as well as allow the company to maintain sales momentum by expanding its go-to-market efforts.
