Who you are
- Minimum of 3 years of experience designing and shipping web products and mobile native apps
- Interaction design, visual design and evaluative user research skills
- Excellent communication skills, including excellent written and spoken English
- Good understanding of the design process, designing with qualitative and quantitative insights
- A strong collaborator with cross-functional peers
What the job involves
- As a Product Designer, you'll join our Monetisation team in one of our Marketplace domains, playing a key role in developing new and innovative strategies to expand our services portfolio
- Working alongside a talented team that includes a Product Manager, Data Analyst, and 5-8 Engineers, you'll have the opportunity to use your expertise in design to create member-centric experiences that drive growth and innovation.
- Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with domain peer designers, user researchers, and design system and content designers to ensure that our offerings provide the best possible user experience
- Join a cross-functional team to be the voice of our members, define problems and goals, map flows, prototype interactions, and support the development process
- Take charge of design planning and execution for the initiatives and features owned by your cross functional team
- Partner up with other domain designers to work on initiatives that keep raising design quality and user-centeredness maturity
- Conduct usability tests to assess and validate design ideas and collaborate with User Researchers on discovery and generative studies
- Give and solicit feedback from designers and cross-functional partners
- Be part of a Marketplace domain and report to the domain Design Director
Our take
For many years, the online fashion resale market was dominated by eBay. Vinted, first set up as a local website, has challenged the incumbent market leader by shifting focus towards sustainability.
Vinted has managed to compete successfully with other eCommerce platforms by providing more creative and personalized ways to shop, and focusing solely on fashion. With 75 million users it outstrips other fashion-focused competitors in this space, such as Depop which has roughly half the user base, but it sees its real competition in retailers that sell new clothing.
Vinted has raised significant funding which it has invested into rapid expansion, growing its presence in European markets and scaling up its US operations. While in the short term this has caused its profitability to drop, this expanded market reach is likely to yield dividends in the very near future.
