Role
Who you are
- 3+ years prior experience in a communications role
- Ideally with experience in financial PR or journalism
- Must possess exceptional writing skills and be able to compose engaging and accurate content
- Strong communicator who works well independently and with a team
- Superior time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of PowerPoint, Adobe PhotoShop, InDesign, and Illustrator is an asset
- Understanding of communications, public relations and marketing best practices
- Ability to think strategically and identify ways to improve communication efforts
- Must be resourceful and take initiative even when given minimal direction
- Understand the best practices of main social media channels (namely LinkedIn)
What the job involves
- External Communications (30%)
- In partnership with the IR leadership, this role will seek to evaluate and oversee the evolution of the existing external communication strategy and processes, including but not limited to:
- Press release drafting and distribution
- Media relationship planning
- Social media management on LinkedIn
- Limited Partner communication design and distribution (including ad hoc comms and quarterly reporting contributions)
- External event briefing preparation for senior leaders
- Internal Communications (20%)
- In partnership with the Management Committee, this role will design and execute an internal communication strategy, including but not limited to:
- Design and execution of the communications calendar, including the Townhall program
- Planning and drafting regular communications to be sent out to employees, including staff newsletters and company news reports
- Developing and distributing materials that may convey or explain the organisation’s policies, position or position on issues
- Ensuring employee distribution lists are kept up to date
- Motive Insights (50%)
- In partnership with the IR leadership, departments and talent across the company, this role will seek to evolve the existing Motive Insights capability to become a content engine promoting the firm’s tole as an industry thought-leader in financial technology and alternative investments:
- Design and execution of editorial content calendar, working in partnership with leadership to ensure appropriate themes are accounted for and capitalized upon
- Mapping of spokespeople on specific themes, including senior and rising talent at Motive Partners, and portfolio company leadership
- Design of new and innovative content formats
- Maintenance of Motive Insights website and associated digital tools
- Objectives and benefits of the Motive Insights media engine include:
- Strengthening Motive’s position as the dominant financial technology investors
- Increased deal origination across all strategies
- Lead generation for Motive Create’s multi-faceted platform
- Development of a cohesive set of brands across leaders under the Motive brand
- Amplify demand generation for portfolio companies
