- This person should have a proven track record of growing social accounts, be deeply tuned into Gen Z internet culture, and know how to create videos that rank, resonate, and build community
- Beyond content creation, this freelancer should be comfortable managing and collaborating with other creators & medical spokespersons, leading shoots, and leveraging a network of editors, videographers, and collaborators to scale production when needed
- US-based (East Coast)
- Proven track record of growing accounts and creating engaging, viral content
- Strong ability to self-film, confident working solo, reacting quickly to relevant trends, without heavy production support
- Culturally fluent in US Gen Z internet culture
- Comfortable managing other creators and production workflows (briefing editors, creators, videographers, running shoots) when needed
- Has an established network of freelance editors, videographers, and creative collaborators
- Experience in health & wellness content is a strong plus
- Independent, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
What the job involves
- Freelance, 40 hours per week, 3 months required. Likely to be extended
- We’re looking for a freelance content creator/producer based on the US East Coast who can film themselves, bring a strong on-camera presence, and create scroll-stopping, engaging content
- Content Creation: Film, edit, and publish content (TikTok, IG) that builds community, drives engagement and growth
- Educational Storytelling: Transform complex health and wellness topics into engaging, snackable content that’s easy to digest, highly shareable, and builds both awareness and trust
- Community Management: Reply to comments, engage in outbound commentary on relevant content
- Trend Spotting: Identify cultural moments early and transform them into brand-relevant, impactful storytelling
- Production Leadership: Manage small-scale shoots, coordinate with other creators, and oversee freelance editors/videographers to ensure high-quality delivery
- Collaboration: Work closely with Flo’s in-house teams (London-based) to build a social calendar and align content with brand & product goals while keeping it social-first
- Analytics & Iteration: Track performance metrics, learn what works, and optimize content accordingly
Our take
Flo is an AI powered period tracking app that allows users to access health insights relating to their cycle by inputting experienced symptoms and cycle dates. AI is leveraged to improve the personalised predictions of upcoming symptoms or periods, allowing the platform to help predict irregular periods or highlight fertile periods in your cycle. They state that the app can also flag when symptoms might need medical attention.
What sets Flo apart from its competitors (Clue, Ovia, Glow) is its ability to change from a period tracker to a fertility tracker, and it can even offer valuable insights postpartum. The app is the number 1 period tracker in the UK and US and the most downloaded female health app worldwide, with over 70 million monthly users. And in the wake of the Supreme Court's 2022 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Flo has responded to its users' concerns by implementing an anonymous mode to prevent personal details from being linked to fertility data.
Historically, it has proved difficult for companies to get funding for products aimed at women. Flo has largely overcome this and secured significant investment through its funding rounds. This will allow the company to focus on implementing proactive care solutions in the app, amongst other developments, to evolve the service offered.
