Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting or related field
- Strong knowledge of revenue recognition standards and accounting principles
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively with senior leadership and external parties
What the job involves
- The Revenue accountant is responsible for managing revenue recognition and ensuring accurate financial reporting of all revenue and related accounts
- This role requires close collaboration with Sales, GTM Ops, and Customer Success departments to ensure alignment on revenue policies and procedures
- The role will also work closely with the Controller and FP&A as a part of the broader finance and accounting organization
- Review customer contracts to ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards
- Be responsible for revenue and related accounts during the monthly close process
- Prepare monthly reports for management
- Own the billing cycle, ensuring that the Accounts Receivable team is billing and collecting timely
- Create revenue controls and procedures to ensure that we have processes in place to report accurately and timely
- Assist in financial statement audits by providing necessary information and documentation related to revenue

It subsequently caters to major enterprise clients looking to maintain standards across multiple and sprawling teams, and the company has managed to net major clients like Deloitte, Twitter, UiPath, and Accenture.
While AI-related buzz remains solidly around generative AIs like ChatGPT and Bard, Writer's narrow target market - in which it has already found success - supplies plenty of scope to grow, as AI copyediting tools look set to rapidly become content industry standard. With continued new launches and updates to its offerings as well as an impressive $100 million Series B awarded in 2023, the company is well-placed to seek further success into the future.
