Who you are
- 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in a rapidly growing startup environment with big headcount goals
- Proven success sourcing excellent mid- and senior-level engineering candidates with specialized backgrounds
- Strong willingness to take ownership of a team's hiring goals and proactively drive recruiting process improvements to achieve those goals
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple searches and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
What the job involves
- We are seeking an experienced and proactive Technical Recruiter to help us grow our team
- You will be responsible for hiring engineers for one of our four engineering teams, building a close relationship with the team's hiring manager and taking ownership of big hiring goals. Every hire you bring on board will play a direct role in building the future of ML infrastructure at Baseten
- Full-cycle recruiting: Own the hiring goals and end-to-end recruiting process, from role kickoff through offer acceptance, for one of our engineering teams
- Sourcing excellence: Work closely with hiring managers to define what "excellent" looks like for a given role. Develop and execute sourcing strategies to build pipelines of highly qualified candidates, leveraging tools and creative outreach
- Candidate experience: Ensure a smooth experience for every candidate, with clear communication and timely updates throughout the process
- Process improvements: Continuously refine and scale recruiting processes to increase efficiency, reduce time-to-fill, and improve quality of hire
- Data-driven insights: Track and analyze recruiting metrics (e.g., pipeline health, time-to-fill, conversion rates, acceptance rates) to inform how you spend your time

As with its mathematical namesake, Baseten focuses on simplifying the complex. The San Francisco startup focuses on simplifying the integration of artificial intelligence into businesses. The tools that Baseten built demolish the need for businesses to hire specialised engineers, utilising the huge strides in artificial intelligence that we’ve seen in the last few years without adding workload to businesses.
With serious funding behind it, Baseten has grown its team by three times year-over-year over the last five years, especially across engineering and marketing. Having hired talent from companies such as GitHub, Google, Uber, Amazon, and Palantir, part of Baseten's focus is on helping companies implement the tools that they have at their disposal, a long-overlooked aspect of machine learning that many businesses have been eager to champion, but uncertain on how to actually use.
Simplifying the complex world of artificial intelligence for business is no mean feat but the three founders, who met whilst working as engineers at Gumroad, have a lot of experience in how to navigate this gap in the market.
