Role
Who you are
- Extensive experience with Java programming language and Spring Boot framework
- Proven experience as a Staff Engineer Or Tech Lead
- Solid understanding and experience in designing and building complex architecture
- Experience in system design
- You have proven experience working with the Spring Boot framework
- You’re familiar with Test-driven development
- You have experience with relational databases e.g. PostgreSQL
- You have experience with building API e.g. RESTful architecture
- You have experience with the integration of applications, features, and APIs
- XSolid Infrastructure Experience is a big plus (AWS & DevOps)
- You are ideally familiar with agile e.g. SCRUM or KANBAN
- Dev-ops experience is a big plus (Docker, Kubernetes, etc..)
- Strong English language communication skills - both written and verbal
What the job involves
- As one of our Staff Software Engineers within our Engineering team, you’ll have the chance to experience a unique 360° perspective behind the curtains of a textbook hyper-growth scale-up
- The Finance & Company team are a dynamic and innovative team that specialises in the Finance domain, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to deliver scalable and reliable solutions in WorkMotion Platform
- We build, ship and maintain customer-facing features using microservice and micro frontend architecture running on Amazon Web Services
- Our engineering team provides the technology to extend our capabilities and celebrate wins in an agile environment
- Develop the necessary code and tests to implement the features/functions of the applications/services
- You will implement and maintain features and projects related to talent management and lifecycle
- Deliver high-quality software features that meet coding and design patterns best practices
- Follow DevOps best practices – including continuous integration and unit testing, You build it, you ship it
- You will contribute to requirement analysis, design, and architecture decisions
- Commitment to quality and timely delivery of assigned work products
- Conduct code reviews of work done by other engineers in the team
- Modify existing software applications with full competency
- Troubleshoot failures during testing, including reproducing faults, evaluating requirements, and documenting root cause analysis

The travel restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in many workers being forced to work from home, and this led to many people realizing that they could work remotely from anywhere in the world. This not only presents benefits for employees but also employers who have a larger pool of international prospective staff to choose from, but this comes with difficult HR management challenges.
Workmotion develops bespoke SaaS platforms for the management of international hiring, onboarding, human resource management, and compliance across over 160 countries. This prevents businesses from having to set up foreign offices and workforces to handle international HR challenges, making global expansion more affordable and less time-consuming.
The challenges of managing international HR compliance have been brought to light due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and naturally, this means that Workmotion faces competition from other companies tackling the same problems. However, the company currently stands out due to its bespoke handling of each client scenario, realizing that no single set of tools is sufficient for every company.
