Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or relevant field)
- 8+ years of FP&A and accounting experience, tech-enabled/consumer products/medtech preferred
- Experience in managing FP&A reporting/forecast cycles, month-end close process and external audits
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and develop others, and motivate teams to produce quality work within tight timeframes while managing several projects
Desirable
- Deep experience working with accounting & financial reporting and ERP systems
- Proficient in NetSuite (preferred) or similar sized ERP, Excel, and Powerpoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A desire to work in a fast growing, exciting and agile business
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Sr Finance Manager to lead financial reporting, FP&A analytics and accounting support in a rapidly evolving, hyper-growth organization. Strategic analysis, process standardization and cost optimization are key areas of focus
- Manage all aspects of general ledger accounting, including month-end and quarter-end close, quarterly reviews, and year-end close procedures for key balances sheet and income statement accounts
- Prepare monthly reporting package (BoD) with variance analysis
- Collaborate with department leaders on monthly expense analysis including identifying cost optimization opportunities. Departments include Sales & Marketing, R&D, Operations, H/R and Finance
- Lead forecasting and annual operating plan cycles with time-oriented deliverables
- Manage, mentor, and inspire a general ledger team of 2+ members
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
- Lead process optimization projects that drive operational efficiencies to save hours & improve accuracy of internal reporting
- Own the continual development and execution of control structures for GL accounting; serve as a thought partner for Sales & Marketing, R&D, Operations, H/R and Finance on their control structures
- Develop and prepare internal management reporting documents to support company decision making and analysis
- Own our quarterly and year end audit requests with our external auditors. Support ad-hoc projects as appropriate
- Support any property or sales tax audits
- Assist in the administration of bank accounts and access
Our take
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a leading cause of death in the US, taking the lives of over 350,000 people per year. Currently, the survival rate for SCA is extremely low, but chances rise substantially if treatment can be administered quickly.
Avive Solutions exists to support better survival rates for SCA. The idea is to supply normal people with the tools to save lives, by developing and supplying automated external defibrillators (AEDs). The company's machines, which are currently the most portable FDA-approved AEDs on the market, not only act as defibrillators but also connect to other devices for remote monitoring, and can communicate with 911.
With the ultimate vision that no witnessed SCA goes untreated, there is no denying that Avive's undertaking is a noble one. Its product has been recognised by the International Design Excellence Awards, and substantial growth funding will be used to build connected AED networks in cities that enable AEDs to be used on Sudden Cardiac Arrest cases well before emergency services can arrive on scene.
