Who you are
- 1+ years of experience in the satellite communications, telecommunications, or aerospace industries
- Experience in business development, sales or commercial operations
- Strong business acumen with excellent storytelling, presentation, and communication skills
- Proven project management abilities with a track record of executing complex initiatives
- Advanced analytical skills, including Excel and visualization tools
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-growing environment

What the job involves
- As a Commercial Associate, you will play a key role in driving Astranis' global growth strategy. Sitting at the intersection of sales, marketing, finance, and solutions engineering, you’ll own business development initiatives and optimize our commercial initiatives to drive growth
- This is a high-impact role with visibility across the organization, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is motivated to make an impact!
- Associate programs at Astranis typically last for a minimum of twelve weeks
- Support ongoing business development efforts to grow the commercial pipeline in new and existing markets including building outreach campaigns and supporting inbound requests
- Analyze sales performance, pipeline metrics, and revenue forecasts to provide actionable insights that drive commercial growth and operational efficiency
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics within satellite internet and private network sectors
- Collaborate with marketing and events teams to ensure consistency and quality across all external-facing materials, events, and digital assets
- Partner with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives, including pricing analysis, customer segmentation, and go-to-market planning
Our take
Internet access is swiftly becoming a core feature of modern life across the world - as of 2021, nearly 60% of the global population were active internet users, and the number is only set to climb. Looking to facilitate and benefit from this are Astranis, who have developed advanced small-form factor satellite technology (similar to SpaceX) to improve satellite internet access across the world.
This has proven an astronomically successful proposition with an overwhelming demand from global customers, including a partnership to triple data speeds across the state of Alaska. This is no surprise, as provision of basic internet capabilities is in the interests of industry, governments, and the population at large.
With a valuation of $1.6 billion, the company's Series D injection of capital is set to ensure the development of its Omega Satellite Programme. Its satellite method is already groundbreaking, and the company launched two in 2024.
