Role
Who you are
- StirlingX is looking for a talented and experienced UI/UX Designer to join our team.
- This will be the first UI/UX role within StirlingX, we are searching for a candidate with strong experience in design and understanding of the development process
- Successful experience as a UX/UI Designer, ideally in a technology-focused or aerospace industry
- Demonstrable portfolio showcasing a range of UX/UI design projects, including web and mobile applications
- A track record of delivering exceptional UI/UX design ideally in the UAS or mobile space
- Able articulate a strong understanding of the principles of user-centred design
- Strong user research skills, with (I) a sound understanding of methods and best practices; (II) proven experience of planning and conducting successful user interviews; and (III) an ability to draw on feedback to create user personas, drive valuable insights, and ideate and develop prototypes
- Experience with wireframing, prototyping, and mock-up tools
- Experience with UI/UX programming languages such as Python, Java Script or React
- Experience with UI/UX tools and software such as Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch
- Demonstrable interpersonal and communications skills with experience in delivering projects as a team and as an individual
Desirable
- Experience with UAS software development
- Experience with React or Angular
What the job involves
- As a UI/UX Designer you will be responsible for designing and developing the user interface and user experience of our unmanned aerial systems (UAS) software and Data-as-a-Service platform
- The role will work closely with the tech, product and customer success teams, helping to shape the way in which the customer interacts with StirlingX’s platforms and products
- Engage: Engage with end-users and conduct research to understand and capture pain points and key requirements, using these to evaluate, inform, and iterate the product and technology roadmaps
- Design: Design and develop user interfaces for the UAS software platform, following best practices for usability and user experience
- Develop: Create wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups to communicate your design ideas to the end-users, tech and product teams, and the wider stakeholder community
- Collaborate: Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop ideas, implement designs and integrate with the platform back-end
- Validate: Test, iterate and validate designs to ensure that they meet the underlying needs of the end-users
- Research: Stay current and provide feedback and analysis to the wider team where relevant on the latest trends and technologies in UI/UX design and engage with the wider UI/UX community
- Advocate: Advocate for a user-centred design approach within the company, promoting the importance of usability and user experience across teams
