Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of relevant DevOps experience (with a focus on Azure services and tooling)
- Experience working closely with data teams (supporting data scientists, ML workflows, or analytics pipelines)
- Strong proficiency in Azure DevOps (YAML pipelines, PowerShell scripting)
- Solid experience with container technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (self-managed Kubernetes, AKS)
- Hands-on Infrastructure as Code skills using ARM templates and Bicep
- Azure certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator Associate) or equivalent practical knowledge
Desirable
- Experience setting up and tuning monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or similar)
- Knowledge of security best practices (secrets management, vulnerability scanning, etc.)
- Programming/scripting capabilities in Python
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, especially in explaining complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
What the job involves
- As a DataOps Engineer, you will be embedded within the Data Team and report directly to our Head of Data
- Your primary objective is to accelerate the development and deployment of data-driven product components by standardizing workflows, optimizing infrastructure, and streamlining CI/CD processes
- You will play a critical role in ensuring efficient and seamless development pipelines, collaborating closely with data scientists and other stakeholders to deliver best-in-class solutions
- Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (YAML pipelines, PowerShell scripting) for continuous integration and delivery
- Ensure high availability and reliability of build and release pipelines
- Leverage ARM templates and Bicep to provision and manage Azure services (Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, Azure Machine Learning Workspace, etc.)
- Maintain infrastructure consistency, scalability, and security across multiple environments
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks to ensure the health and performance of applications and infrastructure
- Collaborate with the Data Team to set up observability for data pipelines, ensuring proactive issue identification and resolution
- Work closely with Data Team members to integrate and deploy analytical solutions and machine learning models seamlessly
- Proactively identify and implement improvements in developer workflows to enhance overall productivity and reduce time-to-market
