Role
Who you are
- Masters or higher education with several years’ experience in analysing healthcare data
- Exposure to epidemiology / biostatistics, particularly analytical issues relating to studies of treatment effectiveness, disease progression, adherence, and healthcare utilization
- Ad-hoc script writing in R, including R package generation and R visualization
- SQL query generation and management in various flavors: Oracle, SQL Server, Redshift, Hadoop
- Experience of using data science toolkits for Python, such as Pandas, NumPy, Dask, Plotly
- Experience in manipulating and analyzing medium-sized to large real-world data sets
- Development and implementation of solutions for retrospective research studies, statistical methods, NLP and text mining application
- Sound understanding and previous experience with classical statistical methods (such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, survival methods) on healthcare data for medical research
- A proactive, innovative and pragmatic approach to problem solving and an ability to think critically and independently
- Flexible and adaptable in a client focused, results driven environment
- Ability to manage team members effectively on or off-shore
What the job involves
- The candidate would work directly with the OMOP Productised Analytics team's mission it to deliver world class and globally scalable studies:
- Simple studies, executed as rapid queries, to assess study feasibility and availability of data
- Medium complex studies, characterizing the composition of a population: Their demographic structure, the distribution of their comorbidities, the duration between diagnosis and intervention, etc
- Complex studies, estimating the association between clinical interventions and their outcomes – benefits and adverse events
- Predictive models for determination of populations (phenotypes) or outcomes (patient-level predictions)
- Additionally:
- Development and documentation of analytical algorithms and (automated) statistical applications
- Participating in Agile practices such as daily stands ups, sprint planning, sprint refinements, and retrospectives, working to fortnightly sprints and taking part in bi-weekly demos

Formed from a merger between IMS Health and Quintiles, it has over 40 years of experience in the sector, growing to become one of the world’s largest contract research organisations, with a network spanning more than 100 countries.
