Role
Who you are
- 7+ years of experience building, deploying, and operating reliable data and ML systems in production environments
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in writing maintainable, production-quality Python code
- Deep knowledge of AI/ML algorithms, including clustering, supervised/unsupervised learning, natural language processing (NLP), and large language models (LLMs)
- Extensive hands-on experience writing SQL and working with databases
- Experience with AI/ML observability, monitoring, and evaluation frameworks
- Advanced understanding of CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, Harness) and API development best practices with FastAPI
- Proven experience mentoring and guiding engineering teams, with a track record of driving complex projects in dynamic environments
- LangChain, LangGraph, scikit-learn, XGBoost, Transformers, FastAPI, Celery, Pydantic
- Postgres, Snowflake, Redis, Kafka, Vector databases
- Docker, Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, AWS, RDS, SageMaker

What the job involves
- As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the design, development, and evolution of AI/ML solutions that are integral to Vivun’s mission
- You will build and scale AI-driven solutions that equip our AI Sales Engineer, Ava, with the skills to understand complex customer needs, deliver specialized technical guidance, and proactively generate work products to accelerate deals
- You’ll work with LLMs on RAG pipelines, knowledge engineering systems, multi-agent workflows, while also refining traditional ML pipelines
- In this high-impact role, you will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to drive the development and realization of the next generation of Vivun’s agentic products
- You will design and develop LLM-powered AI solutions that incorporate RAG, tool calling, structured outputs, as well as knowledge and memory management
- You will oversee the deployment and monitoring of machine learning systems in production environments
- You will optimize and scale inference for both real-time and batch processing, ensuring low-latency and cost-efficient AI execution
- You are an owner of quality by evaluating models/agents, both offline and online, as well as implementing and maintaining production observability tools
- You will build and contribute to scalable data and ML infrastructure
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI development with business needs
- You are adaptable and comfortable with the ambiguity of working in a highly dynamic agentic/LLM development space, evaluating emerging technologies and methodologies to continuously enhance system performance
- You ensure adherence to security standards and data governance best practices
Our take
Thus far, the pre-sales teams of businesses have had no tool through which to track their interactions with the customers, and that's the problem that Vivun is solving. They provide software that allows pre-sales teams to gather customer information, and then collate the information and send it to the rest of the business, so that the sales team, product team, and executive staff have more information about their customers.
This empowers businesses to look at what their customers' needs are now and going forward. Vivun is the first to provide such tools and despite only being launched in 2018, it is already working with brands such as SignalFx, Dell Secureworks, and Harness.
Customers include Autodesk, Cloudera, Snowflake, Crowdstrike, Dell, and Harness. Going forward, Vivun is likely to face other competitors, and the space will become more crowded. However, an increasing number of businesses are realizing there is a problem with the disconnection between pre-sales and the rest of the company. Vivun received impressive Series C funding in 2022 which is being used to expand into EMEA territories.
