Role
Who you are
- You are a nearly/recently qualified finance professional, with strong experience in financial business reporting
- You enjoy working as an individual contributor
- You have experience with both AP / AR management
- You have had prior exposure to supporting junior team members
- You are organised and have the ability to prioritise effectively when demands are high from different areas of the business
- You have a high attention to detail and you are an excellent communicator
What the job involves
- The Finance Team at Bright Network operates the finances for the whole business, including our UK Platform, Technology Academy and supporting our expansion of Platform into Germany
- In this role, you will be internally known as our Finance Manager
- Here, you’ll be taking ownership of our working capital cycle and monthly reporting to help the business make accurate, timely and informed decisions with high quality financial data; to ensure that BN’s systems, processes and controls create trust and confidence for stakeholders enable us to remain compliant; and to remove work / burden from other parts of the business with simple processes
- You will support our Financial Controller by being at the heart of the finance numbers and data is accurately captured so that the business can be guided to make accurate decisions!
- Overseeing the full accounts receivable and accounts payable cycle with assistance from our Finance Graduate
- Keeping a keen eye on the cash position of the company and taking appropriate action with the working capital cycle
- Preparing the monthly management accounts for use by the board and Exec team including preparing concise commentary which helps non-financial users understand the results
- Preparing payroll for the wider team
- Supporting the financial controller with statutory compliance including audit, statutory accounts, HMRC filings
- Gathering and presenting data for the annual budgeting, and quarterly forecasting cycle
- Working as a business partner to support the wider team on finance systems and understanding financial data relevant to them

- Initial screening call: 30-minute initial screening call with our Internal Talent Partner
- 1st round: 60-minute interview with our Financial Controller
- 2nd round: Practical finance and accountancy online test, alongside a V&C interview
- Final round: 30-minute meeting with our CEO
