Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering roles
- Proven track record managing production environments on Heroku, AWS, and/or GCP
- Strong background in CI/CD (e.g. GitHub Actions, CircleCI) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform)
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (Ruby, Python, Go, or similar)
- Familiarity with eCommerce platforms (Shopify or comparable) and subscription management tools (e.g., Ordergroove, Recharge)
- Understanding of security best practices (SSO, IAM, endpoint management)
- Excellent problem-solving abilities; comfortable troubleshooting complex systems and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Strong communication skills, able to translate technical details into business considerations
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to handle shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment

What the job involves
- We are seeking a Sr. Platform Engineer to own and evolve the infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments that power our business
- Reports to: VP of Engineering
- This role is critical in ensuring that Elysium Health’s core systems remain scalable, secure, and cost-effective, while also enabling new product innovation and strategic initiatives
- Architect, manage, and optimize our multi-cloud environment (Heroku, AWS, GCP) to support current operations and future growth
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and cost efficiency across all platform components
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that streamline development and deployment processes for our Shopify-based storefront, internal Ruby on Rails applications, and potential new apps
- Champion best practices in automation, testing, and monitoring to reduce downtime and increase release velocity
- Establish and monitor performance metrics (SLAs/SLIs), proactively identifying issues before they impact customers
- Collaborate with leadership to implement centralized security tooling (e.g., endpoint management), SSO, and overall security monitoring
- Provide guidance on infrastructure and integration decisions that impact martech consolidation and new product initiatives
- Act as a subject matter expert for cloud, platform, and DevOps topics, providing support to internal engineers and external agency partners
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing knowledge and driving the adoption of emerging tools and best practices
Our take
Elysium is led by, and works with a network of, decorated scientists to produce health supplements which mostly target anti-ageing and immune health. Its first product, Basis, hit the headlines for its focus on supporting long term health at a cellular level by increasing NAD+ levels, a coenzyme which plays a huge role in bodily function yet decreases with age.
While there is no pill for eternal youth, a proven method for slowing down the ageing process would no doubt prove extremely popular. While Elysium’s product has been shown to increase NAD+ levels by a significant amount, the jury is still out on whether they actually work to extend lifespan.
That said, the fact that the company was co-founded by Leonard P. Guarente – an MIT biologist best known for his research on life span extension, adds plenty of weight to its reputation.
With plenty of funding already secured from investors which include Mayo Clinic Ventures, Elysium is now aiming to expand its product portfolio while growing its customer base.
