Who you are
- Experience: You have 6+ years of experience in consumer-facing technology companies or startups, with 2+ years of experience leading and managing design teams
- Leadership: You have a track record of leading and developing high-performing, inclusive, and mission-driven design teams. Building a culture of inclusion is not an afterthought. It’s the first thing you champion as a project leader, people manager, and teammate, and are comfortable leading through an inclusive lens

- As a Senior Design Manager at Superhuman, you will lead and mentor our product design team, guiding the creation of delightful and remarkable user experiences
- You will be responsible for design operations and strategy, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that our design output aligns with Superhuman's high standards of quality and innovation
- Build and manage a high-performing design team through mentorship, coaching, and clear goal-setting to drive both individual and collective growth
- Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to plan resources, establish milestones, and ensure smooth delivery of design work across projects
- Drive design quality and innovation by establishing robust review processes, feedback mechanisms, and design tooling infrastructure
- Create and champion point-of-views on resolving UX debt and identifying opportunities for design innovation across products
- Lead the planning and execution of discovery projects to develop new features and design directions, while de-risking design complexities
- Guide the team in elevating their craft across UI/UX design, visual design, and product copy through hands-on mentorship and structured training
- Develop and implement day-to-day design management processes and enablement tools to facilitate efficient, high-quality design work
- Foster a team culture that embraces extraordinary quality, remarkable attention to detail, and continuous innovation
- Provide strategic design leadership in project execution, from conception through launch, ensuring alignment with company principles and quality standards
- Build strong partnerships across Product, Engineering, and senior leadership to influence product strategy and champion design excellence

We spend a staggering upwards of 3 hours a day buried in our emails. The majority of us are used to legacy giants like Gmail or even Hotmail. Superhuman recognizes that our email UX could just be a lot more beautiful and efficient, and have integrated smart features like “unsend” so we never have to suffer the embarrassment of another typo.
Although standing out in a market of free services (they charge a $30 per month fee), Superhuman commanded a waiting list of over 250,000 during its beta testing phase.
With more than $100 million in overall funding from firms like Andreessen Horowitz and First Round Capital, Superhuman is setting trends in emerging enterprise software with both its design and go-to-market strategy. They’ve managed to steal an audience from the big players by giving users something beautiful and more streamlined to work with. Its 2024-released feature is a testament to this, which generates instant reply suggestions for emails that are smart, context-aware and efficient.
