Experience with IPO and S-1 drafting preferred. The role will report into the CFO
8+ years of experience with IPOs, SEC or external financial reporting required
CPA required, with Big 4 technical accounting & financial statement review experience preferred

What the job involves

This role is the company’s first Technical Accounting & Reporting leader, to provide US GAAP expertise applicable to leading SaaS companies and now the emerging needs of AI-related accounting (e.g. consumption revenue, forward deployment of Applied AI services, to name a few)
The role requires supporting the company’s quarterly and annual audits, working closely with the Accounting team. There is an opportunity to develop the team and set the standard for strong internal controls and systems
This role will lead a team of 1 person now and will be responsible for developing accounting policies, supporting their PCAOB audit and driving technical areas such as ASC 606 (Revenue), ASC 718 (equity & stock based comp) andASC 842 (Leases)
Collaborate with the CFO, FP&A and Investor Relations lead to craft, calculate, and report GAAP and Non-GAAP metrics
Oversee all technical accounting areas, including documenting accounting positions according to GAAP and ensuring PCAOB compliance in all reporting
Write and review technical accounting memos and accounting policies
Validate consolidated and entity-level financial statements and footnotes, including for subsidiaries that may follow IFRS
Review or support multiple books: GAAP, IFRS and Tax, where applicable
Advise management of trends and changes in reporting requirements, and make recommendations on best practices for any reporting changes
Provide accounting guidance to cross-functional teams on complex transactions
Liaise with external auditors, lenders, and regulatory agencies
Oversee the preparation of materials for the board and shareholders
Work with the internal audit team to ensure reporting remains compliant with ICFR/SOX
Ad hoc reporting projects as required
Lead external financial reporting tool/system implementation efforts, in collaboration with external consultants to implement the company’s XBRL tagging system

DevRev helps developers build better products for customers through a platform that connects them to the revenue their applications generate. Their headless, dev-centric CRM hopes to help developers clock technical issues faster by showing more directly how customers use their products.

When the company emerged from stealth mode in 2021, they were already well backed by considerable funding and a highly experienced leadership team. Collating and usefully displaying customer feedback for developers, especially using AI and machine learning, is a tough nut to crack. So the DevRev has been savvy in front-loading talent and investment.

The founders’ previous venture Nutanix saw huge success, reaching Unicorn status before going public in 2016. DevRev and its team reached the same in 2024 off the back of Series A funding. This ambitious startup has already delivered the first iteration of what it hopes will become the largest global developer relations product.
