Role
Who you are
- You have 4+ years’ experience as an EA or PA in a demanding and fast-paced environment, ideally a start-up or scale-up
- Great at prioritising according to co-founders’ needs
- Experience managing multiple busy diaries and inboxes
- Organised, with the ability to juggle multiple things at a time whether that be conversations, tasks or projects, without losing track
- True attention to detail, setting the quality bar high
- Ability to communicate very well, in a style that is fun, clear, honest, concise and engaging
- High emotional intelligence with curiosity and excellent listening abilities
- Responsive, proactive and resourceful in problem-solving
- Excited by and can take on projects from idea to full completion
- You’re an owner of your mistakes and successes, and the job isn’t done until you’ve seen it’s done
- You’re a self-starter who wants to have a great impact across a lot of projects
- You’re hungry to do your life's best work and to have a large impact on the struggling health system
- A insatiable desire to help others and to always give NHS staff one less task

- You have experience using Google Suite, Slack, Notion, Linear, Lattice, Ashby
- You understand the NHS and how it works
What the job involves
- Act as a firebreak for Pete and Raj, triaging internal questions or tasks to prioritise and protect their time
- Make sure Pete and Raj’s time spent on activities reflects their level of priority
- Foster our company culture, and help Pete and Raj to uphold this across the team
- Calendar management
- Triaging messages including Slack, email inbox
- Replying to emails as Pete or Raj where appropriate
- Managing and facilitating Pete and Raj’s weekly and ad hoc sync sessions
- Well-defined research tasks or preparation for meetings
- Keep Pete and Raj on track for their day-to-day tasks as well as long term goals
- Enable Pete and Raj in their strategic thinking and planning
- Check Pete and Raj are aligned on priorities, and spotting when they’re not
- Help Pete and Raj hire world class people: communicate with potential candidates, manage diary for interview processes and complete first stage interviews
- Support the renovation of our new office
- Personal logistics such as travel and appointments

Our take
The NHS is one of the few totally publicly-funded healthcare services in the world, that has treated millions of people since 1948. However, growing pressures from an ageing population, higher patient expectations and the after-effects of the pandemic are having a negative effect on the system’s ability to serve patients with the care they deserve.
A major factor in the NHS’ struggles is the amount of time its staff spend on administrative tasks, which is what Healthtech-1 hopes to address. The company develops automation tools for repetitive tasks, such as patient registration, that free up healthcare workers to spend more time on treatment and care.
The company boasts support from NHS Digital as well as Innovate UK and Y-Combinator, and is clearly targeting a valuable problem. With its new patient registration product now live in over 500 NHS GP Practices, and its second product launched, it will be interesting to see how Healthtech-1 can further support the NHS moving forward.
