What the job involves
- The Partnerships team is responsible for all sales & marketing at MyTutor for our B2B business
- Weâre focused on speaking to education leaders, getting them excited about the ways that tutoring can transform the lives of their students
- Weâre a team of 16, split into Marketing, New Business, and Customer Success
- Reporting into the Head of New Business, youâll be responsible for contacting potential customer schools, introducing them to MyTutor and building their interest in online tutoring
- Youâll spend most of your time chatting to teachers from all over England, but youâll also be working as a team with the Partnerships team to find other ways to bring new business opportunities into the business
- Youâll get to engage with senior leaders in education every day, right from the start. Youâll hear about their passions, their struggles, and how MyTutor can help them impact their studentsâ lives
- Youâll work with a brilliant team. We are a closely knit group of people with a range of different experiences that you can learn from as you develop in your career
- Youâll get lots of responsibility right from the start. Thereâll be a clear target and expectations for your work, what you do will have a direct impact on our results
- Youâll get the chance to feed back everything youâre learning from schools to help us improve what we do and directly inform our sales, product & other strategies
- Identifying new people and opportunities to reach out to who could benefit from a MyTutor programme
- Contacting potential schools through calls, emails and other means
- Helping to qualify potential customers who seem interested but are not yet ready for a sales conversation, by presenting MyTutor and the benefits of what we do
- Manage your own pipeline of qualified leads to ensure we can hit our target number of customers
- Report results to the Head of Sales, and ensure our CRM is up to date with your work
- Collaborate with the sales & marketing teams on research, administration and new ideas
- Stay up to date with the education sector to find new opportunities and ensure you have something relevant to say to potential customers
- Join events across England to help spread the word

Salary benchmarks
Our take
Private tutoring is a huge market traditionally dominated by expensive agencies (who charge extortionate hourly rates and take a big cut from the tutors that work for them by acting as the middleman).
The average starting price for tutoring can hit ÂŁ50 an hour in London, MyTutorâs prices start from a much more affordable ÂŁ18 an hour (the company can charge this low by cutting out the middle man).
MyTutor has built technologies to make online tutoring sessions smooth (e.g. it built an online whiteboard and makes it easy to share documents and upload past papers). All sessions are recorded so you can also play them back when they've finished. Along with academic support, the company prides itself in building confidence and providing mentorship.
The online EdTech industry has really blown up over the past few years and it highlighted the need for an online service that helps fill the gaps in todayâs education system by delivering personalised support tailored to the individual. As MyTutor is conducted purely online, it can now really focus on providing quality education to a much wider audience.
