What the job involves
- The Personalization team, within the Machine Learning Chapter and Engineering Department, plays a central role in implementing algorithms that utilize personalization signals to optimize for business KPIs like revenue & conversions
- We focus on metrics over features, arming our ranking and recommendation algorithms with powerful personalization capabilities that bring value to customers in the way they care the most about
- The team consists of a mix of ML & product engineers owning & collaborating on multiple projects
- As a member of the Personalization team, you will use world-class analytical, engineering and machine learning techniques on big data to shape and scale our personalization algorithms
- Build and deploy robust ML systems / algorithms for personalized product discovery experiences
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical business partners to develop / update personalization features across Constructor product suite
- Build fast, robust and scalable services including our User History and User Profile API
- Participate in architectural discussions and optimize the system architecture of the Personalization domain
Our take
Online shopping has vastly increased the reach of stores and put a wealth of products at consumer’s fingertips. However, tedious searches are one cause for online carts to be abandoned before purchase. Constructor.io, founded in 2015, builds technology to counter the search element behind these unfinished purchases, with a powerful product discovery platform for eCommerce businesses.
eCommerce searching is generally poor, lagging behind the power of large search engines, in part due to low system intelligence. Constructor.io’s search employs AI, machine learning and natural language processing to return relevant results for search and browse functions, as well as for recommendations and autosuggest. A host of other novel search technologies have launched recently, but Constructor remains the leader in the space, with significant backing and high levels of growth.
Constructor.io already serves big-name customers including Sephora and Walmart’s Bonobos. It has raised impressive funding that it intends to use to expand operations and business reach.
