Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or business analysis (preferably in eCommerce, retail, or CPG)

What the job involves
- As an FP&A Manager, you will play a vital role in shaping Jack Archer’s financial future. You’ll partner across the business to build forecasts, analyze performance, and generate insights that guide strategic and operational decisions. You’ll be equally comfortable diving into spreadsheets as you are presenting financial recommendations to senior stakeholders
- This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is excited to help scale one of the most ambitious DTC menswear brands in the market
- Build and maintain financial models covering revenue, margin, expenses, and cash flow
- Partner with eCommerce, marketing, product, and ops to forecast business drivers and scenario plan
- Support annual and quarterly planning cycles, including budgets and reforecasts
- Track and report key financial metrics (sales, AOV, margin, CAC, retention, inventory turnover)
- Provide variance analysis against forecast, budget, and prior periods with insights on risks and opportunities
- Prepare dashboards, board materials, and internal reporting packs for leadership
- Collaborate with eComm, marketing, and merchandising to understand campaign performance and ROIs
- Analyze inventory investments, COGS, and product margins to support pricing and buying decisions
- Work with operations and logistics to improve fulfillment and shipping cost visibility
- Improve forecasting accuracy and data integrity across systems
- Evaluate and implement FP&A tools or reporting enhancements
- Build repeatable templates, models, and frameworks to support scale
Our take
Founded in spring 2021, OpenStore helps entrepreneurs looking to sell their Shopify businesses. The platform buys businesses directly, making automated bid offers within 24 hours of a company submitting their details, and closing the deal in as little as 1 week with no transaction fees.
This is an improvement on legacy brokerage services, which typically take a hefty cut and can make for slow sales. It is likely to prove appealing to the 80% of small Shopify sellers reportedly amenable to acquisition. With the hefty investment they raised within months of being founded, which nearly tripled by winter, they are swiftly onboarding talent to scale up and refine their model.
It’s a model that sees OpenStore follow in the footsteps of other holding companies like Thrasio, who provide a similar service for Amazon brands and have enjoyed significant success. The concern here is whether or not OpenStore can hold its own against rivals turning their hands to the Shopify space, especially as this business model has been adopted by many new players like Pattern Brands and Perch. That being said, OpenStore appears to be keeping its head above the water, having closed a funding round of $32 million led by Lux Capital in September 2022.
