Who you are
- We’re seeking someone with proven experience in supply chain, ecommerce, and IT operations who is ready to shape how technology underpins and enables Yoto’s future growth
- Proven experience in systems operations, administration, or IT operations with demonstrable experience balancing BAU and projects
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (ideally NetSuite)
- Hands-on experience with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify and Amazon
- Experience with iPaaS and workflow automation tools (e.g. Celigo, Boomi, MuleSoft, Tray.io)
- Proven ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues in API-based integrations
- Commercial awareness from working in a fast-growing tech company, retailer, or supply chain environment
- Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating requirements into delivery
- Strong documentation skills, with a passion for reducing manual effort and improving scalability
- Leadership qualities: able to manage and mentor team members, instilling a proactive and solution-focused culture
- A passion for using technology to solve problems and enable growth
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Systems Operations Manager to join our growing Systems Operations team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee Yoto’s critical applications and data flows, lead cross-functional projects, and champion knowledge sharing across the organisation
- Forming part of the global Yoto Operations team, the Systems Operations Team is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of information between our software tools as well as streamlining and optimising all systems usage across the business
- Working closely with all teams in the wider business, the Systems Operations team ensures systems meet the business’s requirements as we scale so we are able to grow sustainably
- The Systems Operations team is key in driving operational excellence - focussing on automating manual processes allowing Yoto to expand without continuous hiring, and the seamless integration between all of Yoto’s key platforms
- Manage systems operations for critical business systems including ERP (NetSuite), ecommerce platforms (Shopify, Amazon), and iPaaS solutions (e.g. Celigo, Boomi, MuleSoft)
- Responsible for the delivery of Systems Operations work, ensuring priorities are clear and outcomes are achieved on time
- Lead projects to improve scalability and reduce manual overhead, including system implementations, integrations, and process redesigns
- Act as the subject matter expert on systems operations in cross-functional projects spanning supply chain, ecommerce, finance, and customer experience
- Troubleshoot complex system issues and integration failures, identifying root causes and liaising with vendors and internal teams for resolution
- Document business needs and propose pragmatic, scalable solutions
- Champion knowledge sharing by coaching and enabling the Systems Operations team, while empowering colleagues across the business to use systems effectively
- Deliver regular training sessions for colleagues, increasing systems literacy across the organisation
- Continuously review operational processes, identifying automation and optimisation opportunities
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and external partners to ensure smooth-running operations and timely delivery of projects

A key development in the last 5 years has been a move towards screen-based kids entertainment like apps and streaming services. However, more recently there have been concerns that excessive screen time for children can be damaging to health and development. So, many consumers are looking for alternative products which will expose children to modernity without the drawbacks of many modern devices. This is the demand which Yoto is setting out to capitalise on.
Yoto's product - a screen-free audio platform - enables children to access features such as audiobooks, podcasts, and soundscapes via physical cards inserted into the device. The Yoto Player has received considerable early praise from consumers and from investors also, who granted Yoto considerable funding.
Perhaps the most difficult challenge for a business operating in the highly competitive children's toys market is keeping its product current. However, Yoto's software is fully customisable, meaning that alongside its library of content, parents can add their own audio files to the device to suit the interests of their children. This imbibes Yoto with a customisability that gives it an edge, especially as children's tastes change with age.
