What the job involves

We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our AI team. This is a high-impact, IC-focused role for someone who wants to build scalable AI systems that power real-world decision-making
Architect and implement core infrastructure for AI agents and orchestration (e.g., LangChain, custom frameworks)
Build and optimize backend services using Python and SQL to support AI workloads
Engage with design partners and early customers to validate architecture, use cases, and product direction
Develop robust data pipelines and work with large, complex datasets
Contribute to agentic application design, grounding LLMs in structured data and business logic
Collaborate with AI researchers, product managers, and design to ship production-ready features
Collaborate with and mentor junior engineers

Our take

The scale of data gathered and consumed by companies is continuing to grow at an astounding pace, but the ability of businesses to derive insights from this information has not kept up. Limited by the pace of traditional BI reporting, and the complexity of new AI tools used by data teams, companies struggle to populate business intelligence dashboards accurately, let alone understand what changes in the underlying data might mean.

Tellius exists to solve this issue with a business insights platform that bridges the divide between business intelligence and AI data silos. Integrating with most enterprise data sources and tools, it uses AI to allow users of all data skill levels to query a company's entire data stack and generate actionable insights in real time.

Its rapidly growing customer base among Fortune 500 companies is a testament to its effectiveness. Having secured significant funding, Tellius has been further developing its product through partnerships with Google Cloud as well as gen-AI powered enhancements. It now boasts that its platform can investigate changes to data and deduce the why before it is even asked.
