Role
Who you are
- 3+ years of experience in Java
- Experience working within a Service Oriented Architecture
- Experience building or working with databases, ETL tools, BI tools, etc
- Experience designing, building, and supporting a user-facing product
- Proven track record of solving pressing customer problems in a fast paced environment
- Clear and straightforward communication. We’ll be moving fast and building some complex products together, so clarity and conciseness matters
What the job involves
- Today, we’re focused on the most impactful aspects of DataOps: observability and lineage
- Most teams still discover data outages – duplicated, missing, and unexpected data – after they impact application features, dashboards, ML models, and ultimately their stakeholders
- We’re building a data observability platform to monitor their data content and alert them early so they can triage and respond instantly
- Design and develop product solutions to the needs of our enterprise customers
- Keep Bigeye reliable and performant as customers deploy it on hundred of tables, thousands of columns, and billions of rows
- Design and contribute to an engineering platform that keeps us iterating rapidly and efficiently
- Hone the team’s engineering best practices and shared toolset
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to research, design, and implement solutions

Our take
Developing machine learning models entails a high degree of data quality monitoring, which can be an expensive and time-consuming process. Bigeye solves this problem by automating data quality for operations teams.
Headed up by two Uber alumni, Bigeye tells users what data quality metrics they should collect from their data. Their technology alerts operations teams to data quality and pipeline issues, saving valuable time and money. Bigeye is now used by the likes of Udacity, Instacart and SignalFire, which is testament to the effectiveness of their solutions.
Bigeye has expanded its team and the range of products it offers off the back of Series B funding. Recent products include Deltas, which allows users to automatically compare and validate datasets. This sort of product development will be an important part of the company's ongoing success.
