Role
Who you are
- University degree in computer science or equivalent is an advantage
- Experience in quality engineering/assurance processes, software lifecycle, testing, planning, execution & defect tracking
- Strong manual testing experience
- Strong practical knowledge of quality engineering/assurance processes tools, packages and methodologies
- Hands-on experience with agile methodology (SCRUM, KANBAN etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to document and report on defects, stories and acceptance criteria and other software issues
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Functional Mac OSX and Windows experience
- Have a real thirst to learn. Proactively looking for ways to better yourself through learning
- 2+ Years’ experience - health tech an advantage
- Strong manual/functional/accessibility testing experience throughout career as this will be a hands-on role and will be a large part of day to day duties
- Ability to write user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenario/cases per available documentation
- Experience testing native mobile apps as well as mobile websites (iOS, Android)
- Experience of defect tracking tools such as Jira
What the job involves
- The QE analyst will assist the Head of QE and work across all projects and clients to define, evangelise and implement the test strategy for the business
- Manual testing to insure all deliverables are of the highest quality
- Innovate and integrate the quality engineering / testing lifecycle with the overall software development life cycle
- Familiarity and demonstrable working knowledge of Rapid Software testing and or Exploratory Testing techniques
- Define and articulate the different testing phases on a project
- Assist the Head of QE to drive the complete quality engineering engagement for a project; ensuring quality engineering best practices are followed
- Create software verification plans based on project documentation
- Work closely with Product team to help define stories and acceptance criteria
- Familiarity and demonstrable working knowledge of Gherkin
- Working with all team members at all stages of a project to promote and evangelise quality
- Execute test cases and report defects and daily test status
- Ability to analyse and solve problems expertly. Escalates any outstanding issues and concerns to project team and champions quality at all times
- Can communicate and report the status of quality to the project team. Manages expectations with regards to deadlines and deliverables
- Can deal with adversity. Handling frustration and adverse impacts on projects without it having a negative effect on the wider team
