What the job involves
- We are seeking a Director of Product Design with a deep passion for crafting exceptional user experiences to shape our Team Suite products
- At Toast, this includes team management and scheduling, which supports over 2 million employees clocking in daily, and payroll, which processes billions of dollars annually to get our customers’ employees paid on time
- On Team Suite, our products help our customers’ employees get and stay engaged so they can deliver the level of service our customers envision for their guests
- In this role, you will play a pivotal role in leading design, strategy, and vision across the organization; fundamentally you’ll help restaurants manage their teams and improve their teams’ and overall productivity using tools that represent their unique vision for leadership
- Your work will span across traditional product led growth initiatives, as well as core customer- and employee-facing surfaces and new 0-1 product experiences
- You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, accessible, and engaging solutions that meet user needs and drive business growth
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and drive the overall product design vision for the Team Suite organization, aligning it with business goals and user needs
- Team Development: Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing design team, fostering a culture of creativity, design excellence, and impact
- Design Excellence: Coach team members to continually improve their craft and deliver an exceptional experience
- Customer Insights: Leverage qualitative and quantitative research to inform design decisions and continuously improve product experiences
- Metrics-Driven: Use design to drive critical business metrics and KPIs
- Strong Partnership: Deeply collaborate with Product and Engineering leaders to drive the business forward and enable Toast customers to Thrive

Toast has over 70,000 restaurants on its books, from food trucks to national brands, and its mobile ordering and payment solutions have made it a recognized brand for consumers. The company's IPO in 2021 saw it valued at over $30 billion and since then, it has added more features to its product suite including wholesale and catering order tools. Toast then, has proven its place as an indispensable player in the restaurant space.
