Who you are
- The ideal candidate is skilled in strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and data analysis, with a strong ability to communicate actionable insights clearly and effectively
- 8+ years of experience, or 6+ years of experience and an MBA, including:
- 3+ years of strategic experience, preferably at a top-tier consulting firm, investment bank, or similar
- 2+ years of operating experience at a business operations role in an operating company is preferred
- Proficient in programmatic data analysis (e.g., SQL, Python), from exploration to insight to communication
- Exceptional communication skills at both the executive and peer cross-functional level
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, results-oriented mindset
Desirable
- Experience with on-chain data analysis is a strong plus
- Prior experience or knowledge in the cryptocurrency or blockchain space is strongly preferred
What the job involves
- We are seeking a strategic, data-driven, and resourceful Business Operations (BizOps) Manager to join our growing team
- Reporting to the Head of BizOps, this role offers the unique opportunity to lead and execute high-impact initiatives end-to-end
- The BizOps Manager will work with a passionate and talented team at the forefront of financial industry innovation
- Strategic Leadership: Drive multiple strategic initiatives from scoping to implementation, aligning with Uniswap Labs' goals and broader company strategy
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a central point of coordination, ensuring effective communication and alignment across teams and executives. Soliciting and appreciating different perspectives especially when those opinions are counter to their own
- Data-Driven Insights: Conduct advanced data analyses merging on- and off-chain data to uncover key insights about business performance and strategic opportunities
- Revenue Modeling: Work closely with the FP&A team to own the company’s revenue model, keeping it updated with knowledge of key revenue drivers and new revenue streams to produce growth insights
- Communication: Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, delivering insights in a clear, actionable, and impactful manner
- Execution Excellence: Partner with teams to operationalize strategic initiatives, ensuring successful implementation and measurable outcomes
Our take
Decentralized finance (DeFi) has quickly emerged as a “killer app” for blockchain technology. Within the past two years or so, an ecosystem of hundreds of DeFi applications has developed on Ethereum — with use cases ranging from lending to trading to insurance — bringing permissionless access to financial services to anyone with an internet connection.
Out of these applications, Uniswap - originated by Uniswap Labs - has become the most actively used. It is the largest decentralized exchange (DEX), allowing anyone to create a market for anything, rather than relying on specific teams to be market-makers in an exchange.
Despite the behemoth size of its star asset, Uniswap Labs does not make money from Uniswap, as it is just a protocol with the 0.3% fee going to reward liquidity providers. The company instead relies on adjacent ways to drive revenue, leveraging its massive influence in the DeFi space to do so.
The company has secured impressive funding, including a 2022 Series B round which represented one of the largest raises in the DeFi sector's history. Now boasting a valuation of $1.66 billion, it intends to invest in expanding operations to bring Uniswap to “even more people across the world.”
