Role
Who you are
- We're looking for significant experience with one or more programming languages (previous work with Java would be advantageous)
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams across different locations through coaching and mentoring and making technical decisions to drive projects forward
- An attitude of you build it, you deploy it, you run it
- You strive for simple systems even if achieving them is harder
- Proven experience working with a range of technologies across the stack, including (but not limited to) AWS/Azure, databases, networks, caches, web technologies
- Strong familiarity with FinOps practices
- Demonstrably experienced with automated testing, unit testing is part of your day to day way of working (TDD a bonus) and able to coach others
- A strong knowledge of coding copilots, their strengths and weaknesses and able to evangelise their usage in a team environment
- A product mindset, with a strong focus on customer outcomes and the ability to quickly comprehend and convert business requirements into technical solutions
- Beneficial - a keen interest in data engineering, machine learning and MLOps
What the job involves
- Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll pioneer the development of innovative software solutions that align with our company's goals — and also help build and grow a company of smart and passionate people. And create a real impact
- Lead a team of remote engineers to deliver on business outcomes, from ideation to launch, making smart trade-offs between quality, pace and fast iterations
- A mixture of hands-on, coaching and mentoring to amplify yourself across the teams
- Obsessive about non-functional requirements, observability and preventing fires rather than fighting them
- Switch altitudes between deep strategy with the engineering leadership team to collaborating with design and product to solving deep technical challenges
- Apply your knowledge of the company’s goals and customer’s needs to autonomously deliver impactful software solutions
