Role
Who you are
- You have have at least 3+ years of experience as a UX Researcher, demonstrating expertise in mixed-methods and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- You have experience supporting and setting up Research Ops
- You have experience with delivering on-demand research for product squads, as well as strategic research for the entire customer journey within your tribe
- You have a proven track record of successfully delivering UX research projects in an agile setup, being able to deliver continuous insights every 1-2 weeks
- You have hands-on experience with UX research tools, including Usertesting.com, Typeform, Qualtrics, Notion, and Figma
- You excel in communication and can adapt your presentations and messaging to suit diverse audiences
- You have worked in cross-functional teams in a collaborative and agile environment
- You are pragmatic and passionate about helping us democratize UX research across the company
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Tools (such as Looker or Google Analytics) is a plus, but not a must
What the job involves
- As a UX Researcher you will work closely together with our squads to provide actionable insights on impactful customer problems and needs
- On top, you will support the growth of the UX Research practice across the product teams
- UX Researchers work closely with UX Design, Product Management, Analytics, Engineering, and Strategy. Key to refurbed's success is our ability to test quickly, learn from testing, decide quickly, and iterate
- Collaborate: Work closely with stakeholders across teams, supporting other researchers and contributing to larger-scale projects in a fast-paced environment
- Conduct Research: Use a variety of methods - interviews, surveys, analytics, usability testing, and ethnographic studies - to uncover user behaviors, needs, and pain points
- Enable Success: Partner with squads to facilitate continuous customer exposure through training, streamlined processes, and efficient research operations
- Advocate for Users: Translate research findings into actionable recommendations and champion user-centric design throughout product development

- Share Insights: Communicate findings effectively to teams and stakeholders, ensuring customer insights are accessible and impactful company-wide

Our take
Buying refurbished electronics can be a fantastic way to give a device a second life whilst saving a bit of cash, but many people are skeptical of doing so. Such items are often sold through illegitimate channels and there is no guarantee that the device will work for long, resulting in people avoiding refurbished goods.
Refurbed provides a refurbished electronics marketplace which is challenging this. They allow users to browse and purchase refurbished devices that come with a minimum of 12 months warranty.
The platform operates based on a monthly subscription fee, and whilst this will present a challenge when alternative marketplaces are free to use, the company has recognised that consumers are happy to pay for quality and warranty. Through its marketplace, the company aims to increase the prevalence of refurbished device purchases, helping to reduce waste and carbon footprints and help consumers save money in the process. 2023 funding is being used to expand the product offerings on Refurbed's circular economy platform.
