Role
Who you are
- 6-8 years of experience in experiential marketing, events, brand partnerships, or community – preferably within beauty, fashion, lifestyle, or culture-driven industries
- Exceptional taste level and cultural intuition - someone who naturally discovers what’s next, understands why it matters, and can translate cultural signals into a brand experience
- Proven experience designing and executing IRL brand experiences, ideally with a retail or flagship component
- Demonstrated track record of building and being active in communities
- Deep connectivity within Los Angeles culture, with existing relationships across creative communities spanning food, art, fashion, music, wellness, design, and emerging talent
- Resourceful builder who can move fluidly between big-picture cultural strategy and hands-on execution. Equally comfortable developing a year-long vision and being on-site making the details happen
- Excellent communication and cross-functional project management skills
- Strategic thinker and creative collaborator who can drive alignment across diverse teams
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate results into actionable insights

What the job involves
- As the Brand Experience Lead, you will be part cultural programmer, part community builder, and part producer. This person will define what Glossier means in Los Angeles - making our flagship a place where culture happens, not just where it is reflected
- This role is responsible for ideating and delivering in-store activations, events, and experiences that deepen community, drive cultural relevance, and give people a reason to show up, not just shop
- You will serve as the connective force between brand, retail, and culture, building authentic relationships on the ground and translating what's happening in the world into moments that bring Glossier to life in LA
- You will partner closely with Retail, Brand, Creative, PR, Merchandising, Store Operations, and Digital teams to ensure a cohesive approach to experiential strategy, and build an always-on programming strategy that transforms the LA flagship into a cultural hub identifying recurring tentpoles, local partnerships, and community moments that give Glossier a meaningful role in the city beyond product launch
- This role reports to the Director, Brand and Integrated Marketing and is an individual contributor role
- Evolve the experiential vision for Glossier's LA flagship, reimagining how physical retail builds community, drives cultural relevance, and creates impactful moments
- Lead the end-to-end strategy and execution of in-store events, activations, and experiential programming, from concept through launch and post-event recap
- Identify and secure culturally relevant partners, collaborators, and community voices aligned with Glossier's positioning across beauty, culture, and community
- Own the experiential and events calendar for the flagship, identifying opportunities tied to brand priorities, store moments, product launches, and cultural trends
- Conceptualize and execute activations that bring the brand to life in-store, ensuring thoughtful guest experience, strong brand storytelling, and alignment across all touchpoints
- Cultivate and nurture community on the ground, building authentic relationships with local creators, organizations, and cultural communities across LA
- Drive seamless cross-functional execution by managing workflows across creative, retail, Comms, talent, legal, and digital; keeping timelines, deliverables, and approvals on track
- Lead go-to-market strategy for each experience, ensuring cohesive amplification across owned, earned, and paid channels
- Serve as the primary point of contact for partners, vendors, collaborators, and agencies, managing relationships and execution from kickoff through event day
- Oversee budgets, contracts, and on-site logistics, ensuring efficient use of resources and high-quality execution
- Develop recaps and reporting, tracking performance and distilling insights to inform future experiential strategy
- Identify opportunities for Glossier to act as a platform for local creatives, founders, artists, and communities - bringing their worlds into ours in ways that create mutual value
Our take
Weiss, a former stylist and beauty writer, started Glossier as an offshoot of her beauty blog 'Into the Gloss' in 2014. Early on, she got her products into the makeup cabinets of celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Karlie Kloss. Glossier shook up the beauty business by selling items online only in an industry that has always prioritized in-person sales.
Glossier focuses on minimalist products designed with customers' real beauty routines in mind. Its minimalist approach marks a stark difference from traditional beauty brands, and the company has developed a cult-like following as a beauty brand that emphasises communication with its customers, even involving them in the creation of its products.
Because of this, the company experienced impressive growth, marked by the opening of flagship brick-and-mortar stores. It then expanded further with the launch of its products in Space NK stores across the UK and Ireland. However, its situation seems to have taken a turn. The company is now reducing staff and closing down 9 out of 12 stores as it undertakes a structural overhaul.
