Who you are
- 6+ years of experience as a Product Designer
- 2+ years of experience as a Senior Product Designer
- Experience working on developer tools or other complex B2B products
- Experience building design systems
- Experience working in a startup environment is a plus
- The ability to translate, define, and deliver design solutions that are both simple and powerful
- Ability to ship design systems changes end to end, from designing components to building them
What the job involves
- We’re looking for an Experienced Product Designer to join the team
- The Product Design team defines and crafts a frictionless experience at every touchpoint for Stytch prospects, customers, and end users
- You’ll embed with Engineering and Product teams to builds products that developers love.
- At Stytch, our mission is to eliminate friction on the internet, we’re tackling this by making it easier for developers to build authentication and fraud detection and prevention that makes it simple for users to log in and keeps the bad actors out
- As a product designer at Stytch, you’ll be focused on building beautifully crafted and scalable systems to make it easier and faster for design and engineering to build complex products
- As a senior member of the team, you’ll help to drive Stytch design to the next level
- Partnering closely with engineering and other stakeholders to deliver an incredible product experience
- Owning end to end product design for complex technical products and audiences
- Being a design advocate, upleveling our existing design systems while ensuring consistency and scalability
- Mentorship. You’ll not only help mentor the existing design team, but also help to establish the future of Stytch’s design culture
- Building products for developers and setting the standard for what great design in dev tools looks like

Our take
Passwords don’t typically offer the levels of security they once did, and we need more of them than ever - leading to poor security practices and a huge volume of subsequent data breaches. Some startups have emerged to help manage them; Stytch, however, is part of a growing cohort looking to cut them out entirely.
The idea is to make navigating digital space frictionless. To this end, Stytch has developed an out-of-the-box, easy-to-deploy version of about a dozen passwordless authentication solutions. It has seen a sharper increase in users and funding than rival startups like Magic, which it puts down to an API-first product, which is less limiting in its application than the widgets we’ve seen developed by earlier entrants to the space.
That alone, however, won’t be enough to push it ahead of other highly successful innovators in the space. Transmit Security has received record-breaking backing for its biometrics-led approach. This goes to show how far the market is betting on a passwordless future, and Stytch's acquisition by customer engagement platform Twilio exemplifies this trend.
