Role
Who you are
- Ability to grow highly specialized engineers and/or full stack and assess how that affects team dynamics
- A passion for building and growing high-performing teams, prior management experience, and a desire to be an impactful leader
- Prior experience with ordering systems would be a plus, ideally from an eCommerce and/or SAAS context
- Proficiency in documenting processes and monitoring the performance metrics for our applications and systems
- Extensive full-stack web development experience. Working knowledge of modern server-side and client-side frameworks. Ruby, Rails, and React would be a huge plus
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases. Postgres? Even better
- Flexible growth mindset, you’re willing to do what it takes to adapt your team and power them for success

- As a key technical leader on our team, you’ll have the opportunity and responsibility to set the direction of our ordering systems for years to come, focusing your attention both on the capabilities of our orders platform and on the leverage these systems can provide to our products and our business
- You’ll play a critical role in helping us power the best catering experiences on earth, from the second a customer submits their order to the moment the food is delivered, and beyond
- What You'll Do:
- Build, lead, and mentor exceptional teams of software engineers, leading conversations, and cultivating execution and decision-making; all while delighting our customers and propelling our team of engineers to execute on projects
- Drive the execution of our vision by translating business requirements into technical solutions. Ensuring our products are robust and adhere to the engineering standards while meeting our goals
- Leverage your technical expertise and communication skills to collaborate with product managers and other engineering teams in the organization to influence our systems and roadmaps
- Operate with scale and speed determining the ideal development lifecycle, technical design, and approach for new and existing solutions
- Instill best practices for software development while delivering high-quality work by fostering pragmatism and urgency
- Contribute technically: Brainstorm with engineers, design solutions, and review PRs
- Have fun building meaningful software with awesome people
Our take
ezCater is an online marketplace app that provides catering options for businesses, working with food providers who enter their menus onto the app for customers to browse. ezCater sends each store its orders and handles customer service whilst the food providers fulfill the orders.
ezCater profits by charging a small commission on all orders that restaurants fulfill. The company counts JLL, RingCentral and the San Francisco 49ers among its customers. It previously fuelled expansion through acquisitions such as online catering platform GoCater in 2018 and MonkeySoft Solutions in 2019.
ezCater has enjoyed strong growth so far, in part by focusing on meal deliveries to a growing hybrid workforce as an employee benefit. It has been eyeing an IPO for some time, though these plans are yet to come to fruition. In the meantime, it has continued to develop its technology and unveiled a new supplier diversity program to uplift small businesses owned by underrepresented groups.
