Who you are
- Extensive experience designing for complex software applications
- A proven track record of driving impact through design solutions and delivering high quality products
- Experience owning products from start to finish, working with developers and PMs
- Excellent visual design skills and understanding of UX principles
- A solid understanding of front end development (HTML, CSS, React/Angular)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Advanced expertise using Figma, Sketch or equivalent design software
- Enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a willingness to take the initiative on projects

What the job involves
- Helping guide the vision for ClickHouse by leading design and user experience initiatives for our core product
- Clearly communicating designs through storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, and visual mockups
- Working closely with UI engineers and product managers to help transform final designs into a finished product
- Leading design feedback sessions, both with internal and external stakeholders, to validate assumptions and solutions
- Advocating for our users by continuously measuring, iterating on, and evolving the user experience of our core products
- Helping shape the culture and direction of the design team
- Helping us continue to hire amazing people to grow the design team and bring diverse perspectives to our design process
Our take
Database management systems have long been important to the operations of businesses. However, these systems can be painfully slow. ClickHouse solves this problem with its ultra-fast database management system, that powers real-time analytics and apps.
ClickHouse's founding team hail from companies including Yahoo!, Netflix, Salesforce and Google. This has not only lent the company an impressive amount of credibility, but has also allowed it to identify the needs and challenges of enterprises when it comes to their databases. Its system works between 100 and 1,000 times faster than traditional options, and has led to the company being trusted by the likes of eBay, Uber and Spotify.
Valued at $1 billion back in 2021, it is clear that ClickHouse holds a strong position in the market, though it does face competition from rivals such as StarTree and Imply. It has seen substantial funding, the most recent of which is cited to help expand its product and engineering teams. In 2022, the company also launched ClickHouse Cloud - a fully managed, SOC 2 Type 2-compliant cloud-hosted version of its database that is now available in the AWS Marketplace.
