Role
Who you are
- BSEE or equivalent degree
- 10+ years of relevant experience in hardware lab environments, including proficiency with oscilloscopes and multimeters
- Experience in debugging networking hardware
- Hands-on expertise in reworking connectors, ICs, and passive components such as resistors and capacitors
- Familiarity with Linux and other command-line environments
- Experience collaborating with hardware and software engineers to set up and run complex measurements or tests
- Working knowledge of PC systems
- Proficiency in assembling and configuring PC hardware
What the job involves
- As a Hardware Support Engineer, you’ll collaborate closely with a dynamic team of hardware and software engineers, as well as our sustaining and manufacturing teams
- Your role will involve frequent interaction with cross-functional teams to address and resolve hardware challenges, from first-level failure analysis to supporting prototype distributions
- You’ll be a key contributor to ensuring the quality and reliability of our hardware products, working hands-on in a lab environment and using advanced diagnostic tools to support cutting-edge networking solutions
- Conducting first-level failure analysis and bug fixes on shipping ODM and CM products, working closely with the sustaining team
- Performing PCBA bring-up using tools such as multimeters, signal analyzers, oscilloscopes, and voltage/current sources
- Executing EDVT measurements and processes
- Setting up and running network traffic test equipment
- Supporting EFT shipments and prototype distribution
- Performing basic PCB component rework and mechanical assembly/disassembly
- Summarizing data for engineering reviews
- Supporting simple system debugging, running diagnostic commands, and probing signals with oscilloscopes or multimeters
- Programming and updating system programmable devices, such as CPLDs, FPGAs, microcontrollers, and onboard power supplies
