Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of experience with Site Reliability Engineering and/or DevOps to work individually on projects and tasks
- Experience collaborating across engineering and product teams, to drive change
- Strong Site Reliability / DevOps Experience – knowledge of how to work with and properly apply SRE fundamentals in a mission-critical environment
- Experience with on-call rotations in mission-critical environments to ensure Service Level Objectives are met for internal and external customers
- 5+ years of Kubernetes (or equivalent tool) experience
- 5+ years of AWS experience
- Experience with all aspects of Site Reliability, including monitoring, alerting, metrics, logging, and application performance monitoring, which make up the core job responsibilities
Desirable
- Well-seasoned and proficient in handling complex incidents properly according to best practices
- Collaborative working style and thrives in a remote environment
- High personal awareness, growth mindset; “know what they don’t know” during incidents, and while participating in complex problems
- Previous experience in mission-critical systems and enterprises. SRE requires a commitment to excellence, with a deep ingrained culture of performing at a high level in stressful situations

What the job involves
- As a Staff Software Engineer for the Platform Engineering team at Rula, you will be at the heart of our engineering operations, ensuring our systems are robust, efficient, and scalable
- In this role, you'll collaborate closely with application engineering teams on all things related to our platform infrastructure
- One day you may work to enhance observability across our platforms and spearhead the adoption of SRE best practices, while another you build and maintain reliable CI/CD pipelines, tooling and infrastructure

More than half of adults in the US will be diagnosed with a mental illness during their lifetime, and yet inaccessibility of treatment remains a huge problem. That’s what Rula aims to solve, with its platform that matches users to therapists that are covered by their insurance.
The company, formerly known as Path, is partnered with a number of major health insurers, including UnitedHealthcare and Anthem, making it an accessible service for millions of Americans. It allows users to browse therapists almost instantly, with just a short questionnaire to fill in before their matches are shown.
Though the market for tech services offering mental health provision is an overstuffed one, with giants like BetterHelp as well as newer competitors, Rula's partnerships with insurers set it apart. The business has been steadily growing, and significantly bolstered its executive team in 2023. Its recent rebrand was designed to emphasise its vision to improve not only access to mental health care, but also clinical outcomes.
