Who you are
- Have degree level education or equivalent
- Are part or fully qualified in a recognised accountancy qualification
- Have knowledge and experience in a wide range of accounting techniques and their application
- Can work autonomously, managing your own priorities and meeting deadlines
- Are highly skilled in spreadsheet and database management skills. Power BI experience advantageous
- Can develop relationships effectively to provide a reliable and consistent customer service
What the job involves
- This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe
- The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered
- In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management
- The Operations Finance team provide dedicated financial support to the Manufacturing and Production functions of our business. As part of this wider team, this team of Six people partner specifically with the Production Operations, across Chivas Brothers & Irish Distillers, to ensure full understanding and timely reporting of financial performance to the senior management team
- Managing cost streams and processes mainly in relation to Distillation & Maturation, your key areas of responsibility will be:
- Month-end & Reporting – to execute month-end close based on operational KPI’s, prepare monthly cost analysis and lead reviews with members of the wider Production team. You will support the Business Partner in preparing a view of cost evolution and variances year on year and versus rolling forecast, including detailed commentary, and collate and submit HQ KPIs, including ensuring the integrity of financial information within Finance databases
- Forecasting and Planning – to develop and maintain models to support detailed reporting and forecasting of Production costs and headcount. You will be a key contributor to forecast / planning cycles. You will also be responsible for the preparation and reporting of external cost impacts, including reporting on key variances by market and region
- Business Support – to engage with budget-holders to determine forward-looking cost analysis, including preparing and presenting functional summaries for review. You will be the Key point of contact for financial support of your business area
- Operational Initiatives - to provide support across all operational functions for the planning, monitoring, consolidating and reporting of Operational Excellence improvement initiatives, including financial & non-financial savings, in line with the Pernod Ricard group targets
- Continuous Improvement - Assess routine processes and drive process improvement by working closely within the team to establish process efficiencies and adoption of new tool where required. (i.e., Power BI, Power Pivots etc.). You will be required to cross train to support the wider team and provide cover for critical activities
- Who you’ll be working with:
- Internally, you will collaborate with leaders across the Production function to provide financial support and guidance. You will work closely with colleagues across the finance function to ensure delivery on key reporting deadline
- Externally – you will work with Audit teams to support annual Audit processes
