Who you are

1 - 3 years of experience in business development, sales, or similar functions within the financial services space
Proven ability to deliver a high volume of technology product demonstrations to prospective clients, with consultative and tailored messaging
Demonstrated success to meet or exceed sales targets in a fast-paced environment with an adaptable start-up mindset
Bachelor’s degree or higher in an applicable discipline
Proven track record of developing and managing successful B2B client relationships
Excellent communications skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
Ability to travel, up to 10%

What the job involves

We are looking for a Senior DC Business Development Representative to oversee relationships with Retirement Plan Advisors (RPAs)
This newly created function will allow us to utilize key partnerships to continually improve our client experience and our product, bolster our overall growth, and execute on our mission of helping individual investors to retire wealthier
The Senior DC Business Development Representative will work with colleagues to iterate our go-to-market strategy in the RPA space
This role will require a strong relationship manager who can demonstrate the value of an innovative tech platform to a well-established industry
A successful candidate will be a creative problem-solver who can achieve a high level of customer satisfaction while driving Pontera’s agenda forward
This will be an important role contributing to the success of the Defined Contributions Partnerships team at Pontera
Manage an assigned segment of RPAs (firms and individual advisors) associated with advisor firms currently using Pontera ’s platform
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders at assigned firms to drive increased awareness and willingness to advocate for Pontera
Communicate the value of Pontera for the RPA and Wealth Management sides of the advisory firms
Create, manage, and expand database of RPA firms and individual advisors
Collaborate closely with DC Partnerships colleagues and other client facing teams

Our take

Pontera, formerly known as FeeX, is a platform that bridges the gap between individuals and pension advisers, helping financial advisors find hidden fees and better manage their client's pension schemes.

Pontera is taken from the Latin for “bridge” and the company’s mission of increasing transparency within the financial world was once focused solely on account holders and legal fees. Since raising another successful round, the company’s platform has concentrated its efforts on an Order Management System for financial advisors.

This about-turn was clearly a smart move for Pontera as it piqued the interest of leading investors. Financial difficulties for FeeX in 2016 resulted in a third of its employees being made redundant. That seems a far cry from the financial advisor platform it is today, and it will hope this continues as it looks to cement its place at the forefront of the industry.
