Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of progressive experience in HR roles
- Strong comprehension of HR best practices and employment laws
- Excellent organizational, communication, relational, time management and problem-solving skills
- SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), and other office software
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently
- Adaptability and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments at any time while maintaining commitment to deadlines
- Ability to react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround
What the job involves
- As a People Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring a seamless People experience and reliable People & Culture operations
- This position is a backfill for our long-term People Ops support resource and expands to cover the broader responsibilities of a full-time specialist
- You will manage the day-to-day administration of core HR systems, processes, and programs, while also owning projects that drive efficiency, compliance, and engagement across the People lifecycle
- Reporting to the VP, People & Culture, this role is highly visible across the company and offers the opportunity to shape and strengthen the foundation of Panopto’s people operations as we scale globally
- You'll also have opportunities to contribute to other initiatives that directly advance our core values and support you in elevating your craft
- Own onboarding and offboarding processes to deliver a consistent, positive People experience
- Lead new hire orientation and ensure Peoples are set up for success
- Coordinate People change management activities (role changes, promotions, exits, etc.)
- Serve as the primary system administrator for HRIS and payroll platforms (TriNet, Deel, and future systems)
- Ensure data integrity through regular audits and reporting
- Support position management and headcount tracking
- Own compensation benchmarking research and data maintenance
- Assist with annual compensation cycles, benefits enrollment, and employment verifications
- Partner with brokers and vendors to resolve People benefit questions
- Maintain compliant employment records across geographies
- Ensure timely processing of employment verifications and audits
- Support visa/work authorization tracking as needed
- Support engagement surveys, manager feedback cycles, and training programs
- Partner with People & Culture leadership on special projects that advance efficiency, compliance, and People experience
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve people self-service
- The People Experience is at the forefront of our priorities at Panopto. The team is committed to enhancing the People Experience and cultivating a thriving work environment by fostering connection and empowering growth amongst our Peoples
- The EX team serves our Peoples and leaders by delivering and executing strategic HR initiatives centered around workforce enablement, culture development, and People value
- They are the central location for general People questions regarding onboarding, benefits, performance management, goals, development, hiring, and recruiting

Our take
The concept for Panopto developed in the early noughties when the founders noticed that storing videos on computer hard drives was becoming cheaper than storing them on tape. The company’s foundations were in a free software paid support service that provided the tools for downloading videos onto a computer. Nearly two decades later, Panopto provides educational institutions and enterprise businesses with screencasting, lecture recording, streaming and video content management software.
Panopto’s modern platform offers clients in education, aviation, telecoms, and healthcare, among others, an all-in-one video platform for creating and publishing video content. Its audience engagement tools, alongside GenAI video production software (through the acquisition of Elai), keep the company in step with modern innovations within the content production sector.
Panopto continues to grow its reach and in 2024 launched a cloud hosting service in Japan and acquired cloud hosting and GenAI startups to fuel its growth.
