Who you are
- Perusing Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
- Must be a rising senior at the time of their internship and returning to school at the end of their internship to continue their academic studies for at least one quarter/semester
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data
- Ability to complete an in-person 12-week internship in one of our offices
Desirable
- Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, current-probes, and automation of tests
- Familiarity with software development processes and tools such as git, Github, JIRA, etc
- Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc
- Familiarity with embedded Linux development, including device trees, hardware drivers, bootloaders, and basic Unix/Linux tools
- Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent electronic design automation tools
- Proficiency with C/C++ and common languages (Python, Rust, Haskell, etc.)
What the job involves
- We are seeking Electrical Engineering Interns for Summer 2026! These are paid, in-person, 12 week internships based out of Atlanta, GA, Costa Mesa, CA, Irvine, CA, and Reston, VA
- Design electronics from concept to functional prototype, including hardware selection, PCB design, and system level integration
- Troubleshoot issues that span the electrical and software boundaries, with solid skills using both lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, DMM, etc.) and software debugging tools
- Develop low-level firmware/software for microcontrollers, embedded Linux systems, and supporting development & testing tools
- Work closely with other electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers to deliver fully functional products
- Work in a fast-paced environment supporting new developments, active deployments, and customer operated hardware
- Concurrently manage involvement in multiple projects at various stages
Our take
Anduril makes hardware and software for defense agencies including the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. Its hardware products include specialist drones with a long flight time and surveillance towers.
This hardware is tied together by proprietary software, the Lattice platform, which uses sensor fusion, machine learning, and mesh networking to integrate real-time data from Anduril hardware and third-party systems into a single, autonomous operating picture. While the hardware observes and detects, the software can make decisions as to the threat level of any anomalies, and so allow for observation and protection of an area or building with minimal manpower.
Anduril closed a Series E funding round in 2022 led by Valor Equity Partners. This funding was used for research and development of its autonomous defense products, such as the Roadrunner, a modular twin-jet powered autonomous vehicle that can take off and land vertically. Variants of the Roadrunner include defensive warhead armed interceptors which are the first drone weapons that can be retrieved after deployment. The company has also expanded to Australia where it is working in tandem with the Australian Defence Force to improve its military technology and infrastructure and is recruiting talent worldwide to support its rapidly growing portfolio of defense projects.
