Who you are

Full stack web development, including Laravel/Livewire/TailwindCSS/AlpineJS
Experience with webpack, phpunit or pest, and at least some experience in vanilla Javascript (ES6+)
Expertise with cloud services, such as AWS is a plus
Experience designing, building and maintaining RESTful APIs
Able to work independently, move fast, and deliver results in a remote setting
Growth-oriented and collaborative mindset
Expertise in building highly available production services, monitoring and scaling
Fluency in English

CaptainBook.io is a TravelTech startup based in Naxos Island, Greece. We are connecting tours, activities and experiences provider to trusted local resellers globally. We are finalising our pre-seed round and are looking for talent to join our team
The team: CEO Jerome Bajou has build 6 companies, in tech, and hospitality. He has even been running a sailing tour business! COO Luca Lattanzio has built 3 companies, and has a great experience in technical sales
We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack Engineer to build APIs, front-ends and tolls to power our core products

Our take

Founded by a tour operator and serial entrepreneur, CaptainBook was launched to rocket boost and streamline the laborious tasks that travel and tourism bookers must engage with to gain customers. CaptainBook’s no-code booking engine connects experience providers to local resellers like rental accommodations, hotels, and travel agencies, expanding the customer net of both parties in the process.

CaptainBook is tackling the problem that on average, 64% of experience bookings are completed when the customer has reached their destination, rather than before they take their trip. With tourism levels still rising globally, experience and activity businesses continue to lose out off-season. With CaptainBook’s booking engine, adventure and experience businesses can still keep afloat during off-peak times if they can capitalise on advanced bookings, a business infrastructure that is still surprisingly lacking in many tourism hot spots.

After successful seed funding rounds in 2022 and 2023, CaptainBook is still young but could help underserved sectors in the tourism industry keep up with the competition.
