What the job involves

  • As a Backend Engineer at Singularity 6,, you will develop and maintain online services and tools that support our premium store, payment systems, and character customization features, mainly in Rust
  • We orchestrate our allocations in Kubernetes, with Argocd, Vault, and Linkerd rounding out that ecosystem
  • If your interests lean toward learning more about game code, you can dive into the Unreal C++ source and learn the dark arts
  • You will partner up with a cross-functional team, including Game and Backend Engineers, Game Designers, and UI Artists to co-own and design engineering solutions for a broad range of product goals pertaining to shared player experiences in Palia

Singularity 6 is a game development studio led by former Riot Games developers Aidan Karabaich and Anthony Leung.

While the company is still in its infancy, preparing for the release of its first Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMO), the founders' deep experience at Riot Games (the firm behind League of Legends) suggests that there’s true potential. So too does the fact that the company has banked tens of millions of dollars in venture capital to develop, market and launch its debut title.

While the MMO market size continues to steadily grow in step with the technology it can be played on, Singularity 6 will be hoping to gain a mass following by creating game worlds that offer a community and meaningful, relaxing experiences, rather than just raw entertainment.

Having studied at the University of British Columbia, Anthony worked as a Senior Applications Development Manager for over 3 years and co-founding Splinter Technology Services and Octoknow. After a stint at Riot Games, they co-founded Singularity 6 in February 2018.

Aidan Worked as a Game Designer for Cartoon Network, 38 Studios, Carbine Studios, Obsidian Entertainment, and Riot Games for a combined 7 years. They left Riot Games in March 2018 having co-founded Singularity 6 with Anthony.
