Role
Who you are
- A degree and MA in a relevant subject
- Some work experience and/or Interest in Finance
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Organized, detail-oriented, and a team player
- Good level of English and French (oral and written)
What the job involves
- We're seeking a Finance Intern to join us in the team to support the Finance Business Partners with various tasks
- This is great opportunity if you’re a Finance graduate to join us on a full-time basis, working in our Kings Cross office with hybrid working
- Support finance business partners with the month-end accounts preparation and audit queries. Run transaction listings from the system
- Support with monthly reporting and analysis (act as a link between finance business partnering and FP&A)
- Provide ad hoc support for finance business partners e.g. answering invoice/budget queries from the business
- Support finance business partner in forecasting process for their functions
- Specific projects in team to review process/propose improvements or supporting the business on a specific initiative
- We’re seeking an intern who can start as soon as possible

Our take
Since 1994, Eurostar has been the only high speed train that travels directly between the UK, France, Belgium and the Netherlands using the Channel Tunnel. Capable of top speeds exceeding 180 miles per hour, the Eurostar carries thousands of passengers a day between western European capitals.
Recently Eurostar has faced difficulties, with trains running almost a third empty due to bottlenecks in stations, caused by the regulatory effects of Brexit and a shortage of station and border control staff. Eurostar has responded by consolidating its operations, discontinuing journeys to Ashford and Disneyland Paris to focus on its core offering.
Eurostar recently acquired Thalys, a train operator using the high speed network between Paris and Brussels. The company has integrated the two companies' branding, and its next step is to unite the booking systems and loyalty schemes to offer a single package to customers anywhere on the network. It is hoped that this will offset the recent slump in customer numbers and allow Eurostar to reach its goal of 30 million passengers by 2030.
