Who you are
- Degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting. Additional certifications such as CFA, CIC, or CFP
- 10 -15 years’ experience in investor relations, financial communications, and/or corporate finance with preferred experience within the MedTech space
- Proven track record of positive investor relationships, executive-level communications, and presenting/responding to complex scientific/clinical data
- Superior interpersonal/relationship management, communication, and organizational skills
- Deep understanding of capital markets, financial statements/valuation models, Regulation FD, SEC reporting, financial analysis/modeling/valuation, equity/debt raising, M&A, medical device/tech/mobile industry, presentation/story-telling skills

What the job involves
- In this brand new highly exciting and impactful role as the Vice President of Investor Relations, you will have the unique opportunity to report directly to the company's CFO as you craft a comprehensive investment narrative and present it to the investment community in the lead up to the company's public debut!
- You'll be responsible for monitoring and presenting the perspectives of the investment community to the company's management and creating investment decks to present the ongoing results to existing investors
- There's also plenty of room for you to be involved in future financing and debt rounds, such as working with partners, creating presentations, analyzing data, and weaving a captivating story
- . Plus, you'll get to collaborate with the Special Operations team to detect potential targets, discover synergies, and negotiate acquisitions - all of which are essential to corporate development
Our take
Obesity is a growing problem worldwide, tripling over the past few decades with more than a billion people worldwide now classified as obese. Although the health effects can be deadly, many of the proposed solutions such as diet and exercise do not seem to have been effective. Enter Allurion, a company which seeks to end obesity through a "360-degree" approach.
While in current times weight loss is no longer driven by outdated aesthetic considerations, it's still true that diet and exercise alone do not always seem to work and the available alternatives require invasive surgery or endoscopy. This creates a space in the market which Allurion occupies with its combination of non-surgical gastric balloon to physically regulate hunger, app-based health tracker, and personalized nutrition and exercise plan. In over a decade it has treated over 100,000 patients in 60 countries.
Allurion has secured large amounts of investment, pushing its expansion into India and Brazil, and allowing it to hire highly qualified individuals to its board to speed its applications for approval in new markets as well as develop the product. This was followed by an IPO in 2023, boosting its efforts to research AI-based weight loss solutions.
