Risk & Compliance Manager, Founders Pledge

• Experience leading, managing and maintaining risk management frameworks, including working with others to identify and assess risk and design appropriate controls/contingency plans, in a global environment
• Experience implementing and/or designing control systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with legal obligations, to ensure effectiveness and accountability
• Experience leading risk and/or compliance projects in a global organization
• Experience building strong collaborative relationships with colleagues, engaging the business to strengthen compliance and risk management. You’ll support others to prioritise compliance work
• An ability to communicate technical legal and mathematical concepts clearly and concisely

Desirable

• We’re looking for a Risk & Compliance Manager to own risk management across our global operations, including legislative, regulatory, fraud and data risks, as well as setting best practice. You’ll report to our Interim Operations Director (then CFO) and audit, maintain and continuously improve our processes to mitigate risk and ensure that our organisation functions as it should
• This is a unique, highly-impactful opportunity to own the entire compliance strategy and compliance culture across a quickly-growing nonprofit
• Developing and improving our quantitative risk management strategy
• Maintaining our Enterprise Risk Register and supporting senior stakeholders to:
• Identify risks to the organization
• Assess those risks to understand the probability and impact
• Design controls/contingency plans to effectively and efficiently mitigate any risks identified
• Reporting to our UK and US Boards and Audit Committees on risk
• Secretary to the Audit & Risk Committee
• Monitoring and reporting on risk events
• Initiating and/or leading projects to improve management of risks, for example, leading on insurance coverage
• Promoting good risk management practice across the organization
• Initiating or leading the creation of control systems, policies and/or procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements across our global operations
• Managing our compliance reporting tracker and proactively identifying any new statutory or regulatory reporting requirements across all jurisdictions where we operate
• Leading our anti-fraud efforts and proactively raising awareness of fraud risks
• Leading on all data protection obligations, including GDPR compliance, by maintaining effective policies and procedures and acting as the main contact point with our external DPO
• Leading on the coordination of our regulatory filings and statutory reports
• Leading on coordinating all our charitable filings in the US, working with our external partner
• Leading on preparing our annual activity report for the German tax authorities
• Ensuring we are up-to-date on regulatory/statutory developments
