Payroll Specialist, Mejuri

• Payroll Experience: Minimum 5 years full cycle Canadian payroll experience, US payroll experience considered an asset
• Payroll Designation: PCP Certification is considered an asset
• Confidentiality: Always ensures confidentiality to the highest standard
• Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, the Employment Standards Act, Taxable Benefits and the US equivalents
• Customer Focus: Customer service centric; ability to build relationships with internal & external customers at all levels
• Results Driven: ability to take steps personally to ensure that mutual goals and performance target are met within the appropriate time frame
• Skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with advanced knowledge of Excel
• Follow Through: prioritize tasks, establish goals for oneself and the team; successfully complete all started initiatives

Desirable

• Own the end to end payroll operations including payroll onboarding, status changes, leave management (pregnancy, parental, and disability), and offboarding
• Process semi-monthly payroll for all Canadian, US employees and monthly payroll for UK, employees
• Respond to any CRA/IRS or UK equivalent inquiries/audits
• Address employee questions concerning pay and payroll deductions
• Processes and distributes all required employee notices including year end T4s and W2
• Assists accounting with month-end close reconciliations and fluctuation analysis related to salary accounts
• Perform payroll accounting journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis as directed by the Accounting team
• Own registration process for new /provincial state tax compliance
• Develop strong relationships with our payroll providers to quickly troubleshoot issues, including amending ROE’s, special pay runs, and other time sensitive transactions
