Role
Who you are
- We're looking for a product leader with payments expertise
- You’ll demonstrate a strong product management background with experience in a lead or managerial capacity working for a high growth, technology led scale-up business focused on B2B or B2C payments
- You’re an expert in payments and treasury and are passionate about sharing your knowledge in various forms
- Experience managing Product Managers and Product Designers to deliver major digital product development projects from discovery through to delivery, whilst remaining hands-on in a player coach capacity
- You're data driven, able to measure the impact and result through insights, metrics and data and communicate analysis fluently across the leadership level
- Experience working across payments or fintech products and/or a strong awareness of the payments industry and associated trends
- The ability to formulate an innovative product vision and translate complex requirements to technical and non-technical teams, up to C-level
What the job involves
- Our Treasury domain owns money, movement and storage - the beating heart of Runa's global payment and treasury network
- We deliver a platform and tooling that connects Runa and our customers with the global financial ecosystem, and enables businesses to operate and grow their footprint globally
- This includes our FX products; payout rails; and APIs for exposing core money management experiences to our engineers, developers and finance partners
- As Head of Product you'll be a key contributor in product planning, product discovery and product development processes for our treasury group, which manages everything related to payments
- You will work in close collaboration with Finance and Engineering teams to build and scale the financial engine that powers the flow of money through our platform
- The opportunity to help shape the future of digital payments, enabling funds to flow through cutting edge payment rails and delivering a delightful experience for our teams. You’ll directly contribute towards replacing legacy payment rails with a financial infrastructure that powers the next generation of payouts experiences
- Scaling our Payments Engine by working closely with CPTO, Heads of Engineering and Go-To-Market leaders to solve the organisations highest value problems within treasury through product innovation
- Establishing and executing against the product strategy and roadmap, bringing together a clear-sighted view of customer need, cutting-edge technology and commercial success
- Managing and developing a high performing product management and design team of 4
- Taking full ownership of sprint-planning and prioritisation of the treasury product roadmap to ensure we achieve our strategic objectives through maintaining a delivery focused mindset
- Display deep engagement with prospective and existing customers in order to deliver solutions for funding, credit, foreign exchange, payments, billing, and fraud management

Our take
The non-cash rewards industry is worth $300 billion, yet hasn't seen much innovation. Incumbents focus on physical gift cards, and a lot of the work is done on spreadsheets and outdated systems.
Runa (rebranded from WeGift) has built a platform that offers API access for businesses to automate sending digital rewards.
There are clear similarities to Stripe here: they revolutionised payments to businesses and are now worth $20 billion. Runa is providing quick integrations for developers and simple design, just like Stripe, but do it such that businesses can 'pay' their customers.
Runa had a strong year in 2023, diversifying its customer base and bringing to the market more than 1500 payout types. It is available in over 40 countries and 25 currencies, indicating a massive leap forward for the platform.
